I am having a disagreement with you, Guy, on what available bandwidth per user there is on a given wi-fi router. Of course, it is shared, but to say that each user will get max 256 or 512 kbits/sec isn't true, I think.
Internet data is burstable so nobody shall notice serious degradation in performance, even when there are dozens of simalteneous users. Common, aren't cable high-speed internet based on the same principle of shared bandwidth? I don't have maximum of 512 at home. No, depending on time of the day and day of the weeks and other circumstances I usually get anything from 1mbit to 3-4 mbits/sec.
