I like CheckBook. It's simple but cheap.

I just looked at iBank as someone here recommended. I found something I really do not like:

The First National Bank in Trinidad

I loved Quicken from 94-2000. When I went to 2000 it started to feel bloated and slow with occasional hickups. I waited until 2003 for an OSX-native version. I used 2003 for a couple of months and hated the slowness and graphical quirks and lost data. I've gone back to Q2k under classic for the time being but probably will look for some other "shareware" product.

I have used Quicken since January 91. I have beta tested several versions. I have become very dissatisfied with the program in the last few years. Intuit treats the Mac as a second class citizen.

Unlike Al's earlier post I find major problems with Q2003 particularly with online payments via CheckFree. The program often refuses to send a payment - claiming it is "too far in the future". The workaround is to place the payment even further in the future! Q also crashes reliably when it does complete sending electronic payments.

I've DLd MoneyDance for a try. So far it looks good and it imported a big Q database without a hitch.

Anyone tried LiquidLedger (www.liquidledger.com)?

I just upgraded to Quicken 2003 and it's been working great. One nice feature is direct downloading of account information from participating banks.

Also, the portfolio management has gotten better, compared to prior versions.

I've also switched from Quicken to MoneyDance. Hated Quicken -- love MoneyDance.

I too use Moneydance. It still crashes on occasion but overall, I am happy with it. It keeps the analysis set small. Quicken just overloaded me.

Moneydance <www.moneydance.com> seems more than adequate with all the right hooks and none of the nonesense that afflicts the "industry leaders."

I just downloaded and purchased iBank over the weekend (created by iggsoftware), and I like it. I've always hated Quicken and found it to be pretty unintuitive to use.

iBank looks good (even with the brushed metal interface), it imports my bank's qfx files with no problems, and it's easy to use. It also supports export to Quicken, so you're not trapped in a proprietary format if you change your mind. It doesn't have support for investments, but it has some easy-to-use report generation, and I like to keep my investments separate anyway.
