Get out of the house where you have too many opportunities for distraction. Go to a coffee shop or something.

Start with something like an outline. It's easier to structure/start on something like that, and it's stupid crazy how much that really helps.

Try to start with the worst paragraph ever written. It's a lot funner to try to be bad than good, and once you're started, it's easier to go back and fix later.

Cultivate a new drug addiction. I hear that helps your art to no end, plus you can die young in a blaze of fucking glory and be remembered a genius with a life cut tragically short.

You MUST write the cat hair/silverware book.

That sounds killer.

Oh yeah, and nobody steal any of those ideas, okay? Please? I'm going to do all of them some day, I promise.

You have nothing on me in terms of procrastination. I have lots of plans for, but no work done on:

-- 1 novella/young adult novel (about a house cat that builds a robot cat out of loose fur and silverware)
-- 1 three part novel (about the botched second coming of Christ)
-- 1 series of childrens books (telling the stories of the Old Testament from a secular viewpoint)
-- 1 childrens rap record ("The Adventures of Kool Rabbit and Sass Mouse")
-- ~1 million bands in various stages of execution (Zoidzilla, Cave/Skull, Bird Week, Partytown Hospital, Taihen Ziko, Apollo Up, &c, &c . . .)
