Yes Guy is right.....
When I launched Myzones I stated that this is the fourth generation internet service......Why ?
Because it gives control back to the consumer, this is opportunity of Wi-Fi.
We actually demo'd Vincent's scenario at our stand using a PS2 and Xbox both streaming divX and MP3 files from a central server in the My Shared Zone....

Seriously, I think that's right.
I think WiFi genuinely does put control of communications back in the hands of the citizens, the people; and takes it away from the Authorities.
Will this be a good thing? Will it be a bad thing? Both, I suspect.

This remind me another tech story among the go-go 90s. A SV firm is inventing a small-like-matchbox router so ppl could place them anywhere and connected with some hundreds k wireless connection(forget it's early wifi technology or other things) to make the world to be a fully connected blue potato. now this MyZone service, seems to be another interesting cousin to that old one. imagine, based on report from Forrest Research, said 15% family in the states has broadband at home, so imagine in a explosive way, what if 1/10 of those family use other similiar service as MyZone to not only share w/ neighbours about broadband, but also make some $$ from this. what if establish a public private network that no need go through the firewall of the ISP? what if those filesharing P2P service rely on this? even the FBI can't control this, who could really say neighbourr's computer means public computer? os since if I lend my video tape to neigherbour that I bought from the market is legal, why cant I copy Mp3 file from my CD then share w/ my neighbour? what about to neighbours' neighbour's neighbour? so it might finally result in creation of another WIternet, no one could control. interesting, at least I could start thinking of use WiFi to connect the dorm building to be a hotbed for Quake online, CS online, FiFa online, Mp3 online and even play DVD from a shared DVD player without "illegally download" the file...

The location system is a hoot! It's worth going to the location finder page, and selecting "London Metro Area"
You'll find you can take your pick from local coffee shops in London suburbs like, erm, Edinburgh, Manchester, Newcastle, Tamworth, or York... :-)

MyZonesT reckons it has a "world's first" by offering to let you share your WiFi network at home - in exchange for free access to other people's zones.
It's a great idea. It might also be an idea before its time, judging by Joltage, which closed down in February, leaving a web site with nothing but an email response form!
Would you join a franchise, if it was secure?
