I wasn't having any problems with 10.2.4. However, I usually upgrade ASAP when one comes out. I updated my G4/500 Desktop and my 17 PB, plus my wife's souped-up B&W and a G4/500 TiBook with no problems. Airport on the TiBook seems to be a bit more stable.

just installed totally uneventful on my Pismo 500/640 - perhaps a bit snappier but that may be a contrast effect of the optimizing wait and wishful thinking

Enjoy what'll probably be the last free update before we have to pay for 10.3 ...

I've seen reports now that integration with address book is better although I can't see any evidence of this myself. The only benefit I've found is that my ability to send from the P800 to the Mac has been restored, for some reason this stopped working a few days ago. Thankfully, I didn't have the problems with the update that you had. Edited 04-10-2003 06:27 PM

Thanks for the update, eviltwin. I wonder if Apple left something out of the update at the last minute to explain the lack or correlation between the hype and the reality

Arse. Early reports appear to be true. I still can't browse the P800 from the Mac, in fact the only differences seem to be some cosmetic changes to the Bluetooth Setup Assistant and the Bluetooth PrefsPane. There seems to be absolutely no change in the ability of the Mac to do anything with the P800. Which if you don't know, was shit to start with. Don't let this put you off getting a P800 though, I love mine and I'm patient enough to wait for a new version of iSync to do things properly. I just wish Apple wouldn't get everyone excited by claiming to have enhanced the P800 compatibility when really, nothing has changed.

Don't get too excited about the P800 support, early reports are that nothing has actually changed. I'm downloading now and I'll let you know how I get on with my P800 once it's done.

I will admit that I had minor problems after installing OS X 10.2.5. I ran the installer and when I hit the button to restart after the installation then my machine crashed, bringing the multi-language warning onscreen that I needed to restart now. I booted into single-user mode and ran "fsck -y" and had numerous overlapping extents files and directory problems that were fixed by running fsck three times. I rebooted and things have been fine now, but it was less than fun there for a little while...
