I've been using it for a few days and I still haven't been able to find the "content concentrator" or even figure out what it is.

Concentrator is well hidden butcan be found in the services menu if text in a message is highlighted.

Concentrator doesn't show up for me ... in fact, no Services are displayed when I'm using Eudora.
I can't get anything to go into the Junk mailbox either. All relevant preferences are turned on, but perhaps Junk doesn't apply to any messages that would be caught by filters. My filter set is set up in such a way that some filter will be applied to any message, so maybe Junk doesn't have room to work.
What I'd really like to see from Eudora 6.0 is the ability to control mail checks through AppleScript (i.e. check mail for specific accounts) and a MIME attachment mode that _isn't_ AppleDouble (try using Eudora to send attachments to PC users and listen for the screams as they struggle to make sense of the 'applefile' segments that Eudora insists on including). But it looks as if this is another marketing-driven release, so I'm not optimistic. I suppose we should be thankful that the new features are more useful than the little red peppers we got last time.

I'm confused as to what the other posters think the Concentrator is... I noticed that a recent long thread had quotes removed with the text "...snip..." when viewed in the preview pane in Eudora, and that when selecting multiple messages, the preview pane gave a 'conversational' view of it (completely removing all redundant quoted material) - I think this is actually quite nice...
But I haven't used Eudora for a long time, so perhaps this is an old feature and not actually what they meant by Concentrator?

Re: Concentrator, Michael has it right. The release notes say: ""Content Concentrator now working in the preview pane." It's not in the Services menu (that "Summarize" service is system-wide and has been around since 10.2).

What I really want in EU6.0 is an easy upgrade path from EU PC. I desperately want to move to OSX but if I cant move my 4 years of mail from my WinPC, it's not what I want...

Wow, thanks for pointing this out. My combo of PowerMail & SpamSieve was getting super slow for some reason, and this eudora beta blazes in comparison (plus it's already more accurate in spite of the 8 months of training SpamSieve has).

Concentrator!! That explains it.
I've been trying to figure out why enclosures started getting mangled (replaced by ..snip..) when I changed to Eudora beta. Turns out if you read mail in the previewer (as I invariably do) and send/reply from there, Eudora mangles enclosures unconditionally and silently, replacing enclosures with the snip rigamarole.
The inability to turn this off or otherwise control it is a serious misfeature. Why in the WORLD did they do this?
Not to mention why they call it "concentrator" in the documents and "summarize" in the services menu. Bone headed...

As far as I know, the "Summarize" thing in the Services menu has nothing to do with Eudora.
I agree that they should have provided some way -- even one of those obscure "x-eudora-settings" links -- to turn it off, especially if it is actively breaking stuff.
The spam filtering is fantastic. Hopefully they'll add spam stats to the "Statistics" window in before 6.0 final.

That new mailboxes sidebar in the beta is truly an unholy kludge, it alone sent me running back to v5... For the person who asked (days ago) about migrating from the PC version of Eudora, it should be extremely simple: just drop the mailbox files into the appropriate place in the Eudora folder (which is in the Documents folder) on your Mac. They're just standard mbox files, all plain text. As for moving filters & the address book, you just drop those in place as well and rename them (FILTERS becomes Eudora Filters, NNDBASE becomes Eudora Nicknames...) it's all on Eudora's website and while it's not as easy as drag-and-drop, renaming a handful of files isn't so bad.

Hm, the spam stuff under Special > Plug-in Settings doesn't do anything when I select it. I wonder what's supposed to happen?

Too bad Qualcomm is one of the most shitty support companies around. Shame to have what appears to be an emerging good product wrapped up in a company that won't support their users (paid mode) worth anything. We are migrating a support user base to Mulberry, even if some of the Eudora features are more compelling because of the poor support issue - and other technical issues (like the whole rewrite of a message by "removing" the attachment to seperate attachment directory)

I keep hearing about poor support on the part of Qualcomm, but there are never any specifics to point out what the root of the problem really is. Anyone willing to offer examples?
I have used Eudora off and on for years, with stints of using Mail and PowerMail in between, and so far Eudora just works while the other programs have integral problems that the developers either won't admit to or won't address otherwise. I haven't used Mulberry, mainly because it is even more of a visual nightmare in terms of its user interface than Eudora...

FWIW: new beta out as of yesterday, 6.0b26. Not a lot of significant changes unless you are using IMAP.

Anyone else had a look at MailSmith http://www.barebones.com/products/mailsmith ? After years of (paid) Eudora use I'm about to switch, because the OS X version of Eudora was slow in coming, slow to develop, and still doesn't "feel" OS X native. (Mailsmith has no IMAP though.)

I don't know if I'm in the right place so please let me know if I'm not. I have an awful Eudora problem that started a few days ago; I upgraded to 6 hoping it would resolve the problem but to no avail. Mail downloads and can be sent upon initial connection but after that I get message after message telling me connection timed out, host not found, etc. on both incoming and outgoing mail. Earthlink swears it's not their problem since I can access my mail through remote locations. Please, can anyone help?? I'm going crazy with this and Eudora's site is useless. Thanks.

I'm running Eudora 6.1. Is there any way to set a filter that will identify incoming emails with no subject or no sender? Thanks.

I hope this message makes it to the board without being censored. I have found a security hole in Eudora 5x and 6x. It involves the eudora.log If you have more than one personality set up, and sometimes if you don't, your password is printed to eudora.log in plain text, unencoded, and without the "xxxxx". I have reported this several times with no answer and no solution. I do have a solution. In "Options" and "Logging", uncheck all the boxes and set the file size to 1 kb. This will prevent eudora.log from printing your password. It is unbelievable to me that Qualcomm/Eudora has not responded to this hole anywhere on their site. I respect this business, and I continue to use Eudora. I'm just very careful. This reminds me of one of their first versions I used, whee the password was printed in the eudora.ini file in plain text. Unreal man. Just unreal. They haven't advanced much at all as far as security goes. By the way, the address I used when reporting this flaw is darrelldmartin@yahoo.com

I have a number of address books. Can I move more than one e-mail address at a time to another book? When I highlight a group of addresses and try to move them to another book, it only moves one.
Thanks for your help.

Suddenly, every time I check mail, try to open a piece of mail or receive a piece of mail, I get the task status and task error tool bars displayed in a long vertical slash on the left of my page. I cannot figure out how to stop this annoying habit. Help???
