While I do kinda agree with CNN asking him to stop blogging (hey, they were paying for his time, right?) it seems to me they wasted a really, really valuable opportunity. Why not tell him "here's a bunch of CNN logos to slap on your site, here's some server space and bandwidth, go to town?"

If it's an editorial control issue, they could have easilly assigned a stateside editor to vet his blog postings.
