We also considered Iraq to be an "enemy of our enemy" and thus a "Noteworthy Ally" prior to 1988. All of Saddams notable use of weapons of mass destruction against his neighbors (mainly Iran) were during times when we supported him.
The US approved the sale of the Anthrax that Saddam still has.
Donald Rumsfeld (a "God Fearing" Christian) met with Saddam on numerous occasions in 1983 in efforts to improve US-Iraq relations.
And if you believe it or not, Dick Cheney's Halliburton did in fact do business with Iraq after Desert Storm, and *did* begin to petition the UN to ease trade sanctions against Baghdad prior to being put on the Republican ticket in 2000. Halliburton happens to be on the list of corporations assisting in Phase 1 of restructuring Iraq. That's quite a coincidence

Why are we arguing about this? Nobody likes or wants war. Saddam has had chance after chance to disarm and has not done so. Has anyone seen the pictures of what he has done to his own people?
