It really makes me afraid if I see how many of you are still following Bush and his administration. I am European and as most Europeans against the war in Iraq. And so when you start calling all anti-war peps and socialists stupid and naive than think of the fact that the majority of the world-population is against this war and so in the eyes of you right-winged Americans 'stupid'. We are almost praying overhere that Bush won't be re-elected because he is a serious thread to worldpeace. His foreign policy is very unpopular (not only Iraq) and I keep wondering : how does this war protect your freedom? Don't you see that it is this kind of actions that make the US very un-popular and that this war creates more hate and perhaps more terrorism against your country ? And what kind of freedom are we talking about? When we are flying as European citizen to the US these days we have our picture taken. From 2005 onwards we need one chip in our passport? This reminds me of the former Sovjet Union and the measures you had to go through whenever you wanted to visit Eastern Europe. I'm employed in the music industry and from an American collegue I've heard that almost no non-american songs are broadcasted through the american airwaves (clearchannel). Musicians in America cannot have a hit in the US unless they get onto Clear Channel. Music will not make it onto Clear Channel unless it is harmonious with a hard right wing Christian worldview. I can imagine this worldview allowing 'negro' artists being able to get away with some faux-dangerous watered down variations of sleaze as a disservice to their ethnicity, but nothing with any political substance like Public Enemy or Spearhead.
Do you call this freedom and freedom of speech ?
