jsteven, all I can say is, look how many people have blithely signed up over the years for AOL to begin with, even though almost any ISP access provides more direct, ad-free access to the internet.

YEs, I agree, but I suspet if AOLTW can get their act together a promote well enough what this thing CAN do, most consumers will not be sophisticated enough to realize what they CAN'T do and order it anyway. Or maybe it will become the de facto cable box, effectively locking out the market for really useful devices.

Call me crazy, but I thought the idea was supposed to be to make products that make consumers lives easier or at least more enjoyable...
This seems to do neither.
