I am so glad this is hear. It has been unbelievably tiresome and frustrating to hear the many people on both sides of the argument who insist on pontificating about Iraq, the Middle East, and the people who live there as though they were experts when in reality they've never been farther than 20 miles from their own backyard.

Did you know that the EMP you describe is very similar, almost identical really, to the weapon described in the book "The Dumb Gods Speak" by E. Phillips Oppenheim? The book was written in 1937. Have you ever read it? Heard of it?
