Beware of racially obnoxious whites in north america who cannot bear truths and especially from nonwhites as the whites are small stone cowards full of narrow-minded jealousy, hatred, and unwarranted obstacle and disturbance creation in the name of competitiveness; incapability in the name of innocence, ignorance, and arrogance; immaturity in the name of white christianity; bias in the name of privilege; trespassing, infiltration, colonialism, and wars, in the name of business, technology, education, and job creation; weaklingness in the name of networking; financial freedom in the name of loan-dependence; in between the lines talks, embedded nonsense, and mind games, in the name of politeness, decency, and smartness; neighborhood harassment in the name of neighborhood watch; human rights and privacy violations in the name of unpermitted selfish impositions of security and protection; increasing their karmas in the name of if you ain't white you ain't right; Bravo the immature predatory white war oriented competitive rat race!

Actually, the Iraqi insurgents are quirte dumb. All wars are run on a principle of "Economics of war"; in other words; "for every $100,000 bomb dropped, what are my returns". The objective of the insurgents are not meet, "protect the people" and return the lands to the people's control. In fact they are doing more damage then good. Eventually, they will have to clean up the mess.
Now what if bring the war to the world? as an example; 1/2 the world's oil pass through the Straits of Malacca/Singapore and 1/4 of the world's trade. With thousands of miles of coastline, it is impossible to have intense surveillance; to do so would be immensely costly. What if a maritime attack on large carriers of LPG- Liquified Petroleum Gas/LNG- Liquified Natural Gas. The bast itself from a single vessel would be 10 Km and impact the economy of the world. Checkmate.

so what if Iraqi prisoners were mistreated by americans. It is war and if we were their prisoners there would be no limit to the abuse and torture.

First of all, the action in Iraq is a Police Action and not a WAR. The intent was to dislodge Saddam Hussein and his government in order to FREE the Iraqi people and dismantle WMDs. Well, anyone with an inkling of intelligence is very aware that this part of the globe is one that is and has been embroiled in conflict since...FOREVER! For our government to naively assume that we are going help to facilitate democracy in Iraq is an infantile dream. The Islamic clerics command the attitude of the masses toward their wanna be liberators and that attitude is one of, "we are the great SATAN and our allies are only slightly less evil". The majority of Iraqis are not very worldly, under educated and totally subjudgated by Islam and it's hierarchy. There is only one thing these people respect and that is a bigger and swifter sword. Our sword is quite large but not swift enough because it is being swung by bureaucrats and shoe clerks. The fact that some of the world's largest crude oil reserves are involved only further muddy the holy water we the west think we swim in. The very people we claim to be fighting and dying for have a HUGE disdain for us and laugh at the weakness of our so called humanitarian intentions. Yes, there are many GOOD things that we are attempting to do there but in the end we will not be loved, respected or feared by these barbarians. The Bush administration has got the country in another quagmire of a "War". The politics of western democracy and the U.S. two party system are as narrow minded as the politics of Islam. The majority of the masses are fed what it is they should believe in and endorse as a scociety. We are FAT and indoctrinated and the mighty power we wield is clumsy and not well thought through. As a veteran and someone, who has lived extensively all over this planet, I have great empathy for the young men, whom we are sacraficing in this folly. Think for yourself, open your eyes wide and TRY to really see things as they are.

I like your political/off topic comments. Weblogs by their nature are journal like and injected with the authors personality. I think if something important is on your mind that's not 100% mac related i'd like to hear it anyway.

A little more about the reason I bother to mention paramount political news of the day on MNJ: While I do accept donations and run MNJ as a fairly business-like Web site, at its heart MNJ is a labor of love, a way to give something to the Mac community and try to save people from some of the pains that can come along for Mac OS X users. And as I try to create something useful each day, I also put a lot of myself into the site. Well, putting myself out there means more than simply reflecting the Mac news of the day. Sometimes more of Rob makes its way into the pages of MNJ, such as my digital photos. It is the nature of a Weblog...

Maybe I'm just a loser, but my first thought after watching Georgy speak was "wonder what Rob has to say" :-)

Thanks Thad. I know that everyone won't agree with me on political issues, but I feel it is much better to talk about the important issues and have a dialogue than to pretend nothing important is happening in the world. The Mac news and tips are hopefully useful for people, but there are much more important things...

I visit for Mac news, intellectual stimulation, and the feeling of comradery. I respect your opinions and ideals more so than most news sites. Even though I don't agree 100% all the time, I still like to read it.

Thad, yeah, I read about that last week but didn't mention it on MNJ. I do a lot of political reading and thinking, but as WCityMike points out in his comment, most folks don't come to MNJ to read about politics. Most of the time I completely agree, but when something as grave as war is going on I shift my thinking away from the trivial and to more worthy topics. On Sept. 11, 2001 I didn't just go on reporting the Mac news, and I won't just report Mac news and tips all of the time when the world starts falling apart...

If I may make a recommendation ... DON'T. People want war news, no offense, but they're not going to look to MNJ for it. People come to MNJ, they're going to want Mac-related news. People want war coverage, they'll head to /. or political blogs or other places ...

Did you see that article about Geo Bush Sr warning his son that he needed the unilateral front? I got this link from a friend of mine in France.
