The question in my mind is what haven't you done and why aren't you doing that now. Also, two years, huh? Looking back? Trying to remember it all?? Slippery slope. Watch out!
Do something crazy!!! (and I don't mean repotting your pineapple, either...though, that would be crazy - its way too early)

Actually I think the wrong thing to do right now is to do something crazy. People always do something shocking and wacky when a major life change comes along.
I think now is a time to reconnect with yourself. Take a little mental holiday...go somewhere new by yourself and just take a few days to find your inner voice again. Noise in a situation like this just clouds the mind. I think a small (highly affordable) vacation...take some photos...write in a journal...walk...peace.
I had a situation when I lived in Austalia...I lost my dotcom job...so I just took some time to read and write. I spent a lot of time in a cafe just writing in my journal (on my Newton) and I discovered a lot about myself. Even a few days without any friends...just you and your thoughts...can be great. Then come back and reconnect with your life.
You're resourceful...you're gonna be just fine.

Blah! Don't be a fuddy duddy. Most people do stuff like this to get out of their rut and reinvent themselves. Sometimes we just have break free of our thought patterns to remind ourselves what it means to be alive. Crisis or no! Anyway, what is "crazy" other than something we wouldn't normally do or think of. Shake things up a bit (but in a good way)...she doesn't have to join the circus or rob a bank or anything (though the extra money wouldn't hurt I bet). ;-)
Your list of suggestions sounds like stuff similar to what she does anyway (I am guessing based on blog data). Maybe I should say "go find some adventure"..is that more palatable? Whatever you do, though don't do this alone...this is what friends are for.
Anyway, what works for one won't necessarily work for all. She'll decide when its time.
Wasn't this about her dreads? I think they looked cool. Better pic, though???

I hardly think I'm being a fuddy duddy...you gave advice...I gave advice...regardless...the important thing is that we care and we're only trying to help.

sorry...we're all just speaking from perspective. I just think that based on how heavy duty the posts have been lately, to come up with telling us about a "fun little experiment" and in the context of being happy seems like she want to get back to that sort of thing. Sunrise meditation amongst the forest definately has its time and place...this just doesn't seem like one of them. She wants to recapture something she may feel she lost. I think the best way to do that is to go forward with the same spirit that got her there in the first place...not check her rear-view mirrors. (God, am I over analyzing you or what!)
No more crappy analysis from me.
How long did you have the dreads?? Did they smell funny?

wow....and here I thought all these posts were gonna be: "Pink dreads? Are you nuts?"
This week, I'm just takin it easy and try to re-stablize my life by finding a new home and a job. That's my priority first and foremost. To move out and move on. I can't sit around wondering "what if" and "I should have." It won't make any difference and it's counter-productive.
Our relationship wasn't working the way it was. I was too needy and he was feeling too pressured. And it came into the stage where it was too hard to keep it going the way it was. (if that makes any sense).
At least I'm smarter for it and know what my pattern is. Now maybe I can break it and have a healthier connection next time around.

Too nerdy?!? Good lord...is that possible? I'm certainly in trouble.
The craziest thing I did with my hair was having it done cobalt blue for a magazine cover...I kinda thought it was cool...but I didn't like that it rubbed off on the pillow, the car headrest, the sofa, the towels...

I agree with agraham999: Take more pictures! Then put them online! More Bonnie pics! More! I've been visiting your site since late 1998! You never update! Bad Bonnie! You need more pictures!

Bonnie said "too needy", agraham999, not "nerdy." But I read it the same way as you the first time :)
Edit: ... unless she changed it when she edited her own post ...

Pink dreads? Are you nuts?
:)
Actually I like mad hair like that, I always have, and I always will. Makes me remember Strawberry Switchblade, amongst other things...

I'm need some help with my dreads, or at least some info. My dreads have been getting thin at the roots. A few have broken but not alot. I've started bonding a few to make them stronger, but is this a good idea? What method does anyone recomend in grooming dreads on a weekly or daily basis?
