Ah, beat me to the punch on this. I thought about blogging this. I found the emperical tests they ran interesting. In particular, they suggest the technique of replacing "@" with "@" is a good way to spam-protect email addresses in web pages.

Movable Type has a feature to do this. It's a practice I've begun adopting. My fear, however, is that if it catches on, spammers will correct their software to handle this. Nonetheless, it seems viable in the short term.
