I heard that the spammed Iraqi officers were planning to put themselves on the UN's new "Do Not Call" Registry, so they should be okay.

If your ass is sufficiently sweet and tender, I might have to take you up on your offer, Xeni; can you describe the goods, or perhaps post a contemporary picture?

If you do, I'll be glad to post it on my blog (http://www.bennett.com/blog/), which has been up since 1995; perhaps that would help you get some traffic.

By the way, I have so many nominees for Moron of the Month that you didn't make the short list, so don't feel too bad.

I saw it and laughed Xeni. Lighten up folks. Were all God's children.

(my dark joke rebuttel)
"Geneva convention, what is that some outdated UN mandate?"

"I nominate you to bite my fucking ass"

Madam Speaker, I second the nomination.

From what I've read, Iraqi officers are required to report any attempt by outsiders to contact them. Perhaps this cell phone campaign is an attempt to tie up the bureaucracy by requiring them to process thousands of Attempted Subversion forms.

Actually, if we're spamming them, it sort of explains why the resistance is so much stiffer than we anticipated.

Hello, Richard,

I nominate you to bite my fucking ass, then go build your own damn blog, where you can spend however much time you like every day researching, collecting, and writing material without being paid, then wait for uninvited blog-playa-hataz like yourself to come toss lame, unoriginal, not even particularly funny flames because oh, that's right, they're too fucking lazy to actually go start a blog of their own.

--XJ

And yes, I was joking. There's something called black humor. It's one of the ways that people respond to, or try to cope with, the very black reality of war.

Man, people are ragging on Cory in the 'Martian flu' above and now on Xeni. Don't read the damned blog if you don't like the way the hosts of it post. Those of us looking for actual intelligent responses don't particularly enjoy wading through petty carping.

Calling one of the hosts of the blog a moron. Who taught you manners?

Regarding the email "psyops" messages; here's an idea of what it might look like...

Anything that causes the Iraqi military to crumble will save lives and is worth trying. You'd rather we do carpet-bombing?

You mock a minor psy-ops issue as a violation of the Geneva Convention, but not one word about *actual* Iraqi violations re: executing POWs?

Jeebus, you're more screwed up than I thought.
