~``~ Found this bit of hope earlier. :)gwenithugs

Suicide equals murder by society.
Ignorance equals fear equals violence.
Cut hair, or skin, or wrists/belly. Or bombs.

Murder is murder no matter if we call it war, capital punishment, mercy killing, extreme torture.

But it does end someone's torture/misery by making others tortured.

"...Preventing suicides in the military
Newbury, Mass. - When John Ruocco, a Marine Corps major, committed suicide after a deployment in Iraq, his wife, Kim, didn't hide from the issue. "

A good harvest so far this am. !!!

The editorial page is better than nothing? YES!!!!!!! YES!!! YES!

Especially when The science of it can be in the same post!!!

MOST ESPECIALLY when I am experimenting with salt for my own cramping pain relief.

MORE Especially - - - because way back when - - - early in my study of brain functions, I found research illustrating how ions move from one cell to another.

Helps me understand that it really IS
all in my head = but NOT necessarily in my mind.

BENITA BOWEN - THE BELLINGHAM HERALD
Mental illnesses are brain disorders; illnesses, not choices. They are treatable, and thousands of people are enjoying long-term recovery, leading responsible lives as our fellow taxpayers, neighbors and friends.........."

"...Using Synthetic Evolution To Study The Brain: Key Part Of Neurons Modeled On Computer
ScienceDaily (Oct. 3, 2009) — The human brain has evolved over millions of years to become a vast network of billions of neurons and
synaptic connections. Understanding it is one of humankind’s greatest pursuits.
But to understand how the brain processes information, researchers must first understand the very basics of neurons — even down to how proteins inside the neurons act to change the neuron’s voltage.
To do so requires a balance of experimentation and computer modeling — a partnership across disciplines traversed by Bill Kath, professor of engineering sciences and applied mathematics in the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science, and Nelson Spruston, professor of neurobiology and physiology in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences.
The two have worked together for more than a decade, with Spruston designing experiments and Kath developing computer models that explain the results that Spruston found. (It also works the other way: Kath’s models have provided Spruston with ideas to test experimentally.)
Spruston has been studying ion channels of neurons that change their shape when activated, allowing sodium to enter from outside the neuron. This changes the voltage of the neuron, causing the neuron to fire and send off a chain of neural activity within the brain. The difficulty in modeling such behavior lies in the time scale over which this happens — anywhere from fractions of a millisecond out to several seconds.................."

Hi Folks, Seems I've grown dummy enough to only be able to talk here. So sorry. Will keep trying to say all I need to say here - for as long as possible. Wishing you each happyy, well, and safe.

At least, At last - I see this as a big step for all mankind.

IS THIS A SIGN of an attitude change?

"...Treating traumatic brain injuries
They can't be set like a bone or staunched like a bleed. They can be difficult even to detect, but the military and others are working to improve care.
Ewing is pleased with the growing awareness of brain injury, brought about by the armed forces' considerable research and rehabilitation dollars. He also hopes that more of those benefits -- and the sympathy -- that brain-injured veterans are getting will begin to flow to civilians fighting the same battles in communities across the country.

"I feel for them," says Ewing, a Vietnam veteran. "They deserve everything they can get and more. But so do I.".............."

~..~ with eyes wide open - - -

arrows in my cool temp quiver

since beginning - siestra, nap, be quiet during heat of the day.
nurse brings ice cubes, with blanket, to accident survivor.
survivors of "too long under the ice or in the snow".
fan on wet towel wrapped head.
cool blood for surgery - and room for staffs' brain functions.
'cool-cap' therapy.

So ? ? ? ? ? first aid now says
>"warm body to prevent shock/hypothermia"<> "cool head to prevent more brain damage"<

I want to explore this more!!!!!

".......Chastilin is the 30th infant to have the cool-cap treatment at the hospital since it began offering it in April 2008. The device works by keeping the infant's brain cool while the rest of the body remains about 3 degrees below normal body temperature. It includes a helmetlike shell that is placed over the baby's head, and tubes that circulate cold water through the cap for a cooling effect.........
snip.........

I'm very happy because she survived and the doctors have taken care of her," Rodriguez said. "It's not going to be easy, but God has made a decision. What can you do?"........."

Hope you all are happy and open for all good things. Here is the latest in my latest adventure.

Was playing with Wy, when an older "one" brought the mid day pills. She brought the wrong one and the bubble buster. I asked why. She said it was ok . I disagreed. She said she would have the nurse come for them.

"1:50pm - 2 pills sit in cup by my control. (RM?) leaves. The large white one maybe works. The shorter/long pink generic for benadryl has been labeled as poisin for me..........
1:56 a nurse - came asking for pills. She claims she can not leave pills in the room. She watched me fill the pill cup from coffee holder. She still insisted. She walked out. time now is 2:01. Gwenith Upton

Just put 2:00 med dose in bedside waste basket. Supposed to be benadryl and smithcone for gas control. Looked correct. Didn't trust the deliverer. She stuck her head in the bath, during "smoke control" trial.

No one has spken to me today. :)

Just put meds delivered - 2:40 +/-
by poinsetta, behind books to be returned.
I have no idea what the delivery person expects to happen. She explained in her early visits that she could no longer do final care at ? care in Casper. -Not sure she can do this !

Have "wild?" with the birds for after noon. Knitting grn head bit.

Warned I should not need to do again!
