Just want to know if Jerry Ulness found a home.
Belting people are not in demand anymore, but there are a few good companies out there that can use one or two.
One of the things that strikes me about the "new way" of conducting belt sales, is how difficult it is (sometimes)to contact a real live and knowledgeable belt person over the phone. Quick response is, in my humble experience, one of the indicators of suppliers who really want to take care of customers - they have not forgotten that in the end, people buy from people, and relationships in this industry are long lasting. So Jerry, I hope you've found a good place to share your knowledge.

Pornsawan,
The best method for splicing solid thermoplastic belt is a press splice using a finger joint, overlap, or modified butt joint. This will give you the best cosmetic look, as well as most accurate flow.
The next best would be the butt splice (Andro-Splice) This is the faster method but only joins the belt ends. This is standard for field installs.
The third method is the welding rod and hot air blower. This is the first method used and still finds popularity with old timers and people who have occasional fabrications. The cost on this system is the most resonable.

Hi Ted,

Can you tell me where I can purchase a curved cleat bonding machine. I had a few names but nothing panned out. I have seen a Frank Schurman machine at Belt Services in Sacramento and can't find out anything else. Please e-mail me at jammer@softcom.net with anything you know.

Thank you, Jammer

Howdy from St.Louis!
It has been a while...hope the job is going OK.
There are a few guys making TFE welders that I know of, myself included. Call me and we can kick some ideas around. I assume you want to splice TFE coated fibreglass, or did you have something else in mind???
