There is a great option for rants and raves: craigslist. There are TONS of people there that have very strong opinions about the whole cycling issue: both mountain and plains people. There are also cyclists there with whom you can argue. The problem with this issue is that nobody really wants to compromise, and they are always asking the other side to take the initial step (dispite who may be wrong in the beginning). I have my own opinion regarding the whole issue, but in the end we all have to live together no matter how we feel. We all have our priorties. Are cyclist-related frustrations worth moving away from such a beautiful area and having a completely different way of life? For me they aren't, so I remain in the mountains.

re: x-country training skis
According to Sheriff Pelle, they are NOT legal to use on the road. When I asked him about them he said his deputies will cite them if called.

Our doggies are now home safe and sound. Found Angel up by our old place (thanks for the tip Jenny!) and Charlie must not have been far behind as he showed up at our gate only moments after I came home with Angel! Thanks again to anyone and everyone that kept an eye out for them today! Here's hoping we don't have to do that again anytime soon!

I just wanted to apologize for my evil twin's abusive use of her excessively erudite vocabulary - "vitriolic histrionics" was a little over the top. :-) She will be disciplined severely by requiring her to read text messages like "LOL, r u still my BFF? C u 2 nite".
Peace - I had my little hissy fit - just had to get it off my chest. And I appreciate the very civil tone of most of today's posts. I'll get off my high horse now.

I ordered 100 of these magnets for everyone to put on their frig so you don't have to go paging through the QT to get emergency phone numbers. They should be here next week, and I will carry them with me, so grab me if you want one. I am happily accepting spare change donations because although yes, they advertise my business, I wanted them to look cool and really can't afford them, as they cost about $2 apiece.

I am really getting concerned now....X-C ski trainers are not allowed on the roads (what about some of us who walk/jog/run the road at times w/ dogs O-My, who may have to poooo???? are we going to get hauled in?,,,,think about it folks, please.) That is the CU Ski Team or LERT training, I am pretty sure...why else would they do it. We are getting so possesive of "the State of Colorado's roadways". I have lived in JimTown for 30+ years and accepted the fact that we are blessed to live here and am not surprised that it is a destination for allot of people....Connie Carpenter wanabees (in spandex) ski trainers...up-hill is better exercise than down....joggers w/dogs etc. Harley riders...nananana..nobody talks about the Mtn Bike Trails that have been accessed.... It was not a big problem until this past year or so. I don't know what changed....(QT?...forum to bitch and moan...?) I moved up here to get away from the Boulder mentality...not relocate it. I know allot of riders who cruise our/their state's roadways and suggest that they mind their manners 'cause there are "Hillbillies" up here who aren't always nice. For the record...I proudly refer to myself as a JimTown Hillbilly. I have to believe that our state and federal government have bigger fish to fry than these issues. It's your/our/my tax dollars that pay for "all the BS" can't we move on to more important issues now? The QT has provided us with a forum and hopefully a progressibe focus...not just a "gossip/bitch venue" which is a waste of everybody's time. God Bless..........I love JimTown and it's commUNITY!

"Make-up" mojitas at my house tomorrow night 5 p.m.
My own evil twin is in deep doodoo and being forced to make mojitas for all while supplies (rum that is) last. Hope to see you there! P.S. Lisa, I'd love one of those beautiful magnets. I'll put 2 in an envelope on the porch if I don't see you tomorrow.

I know I'm not really a JT'er, but I believe in live and let live, so I totally concur with Thelma Lou. I just thought I'd throw out there that things could be a WHOLE hell of a lot worse around here- just in general, and I try to practice gratitude every day. I was living in Africa before here, and the fact is, if we can be safe from war, environmental catastrophe, hunger, capricious and dangerous authorities (like, they will kill you or throw you into a dark hole of a jail for life, not just give you a ticket), religious persecution, etc, etc, we are doing better than the vast majority of our fellow world citizens. I'm not saying we should be happy with just freedom from these things, but we should be grateful- and that will generally color our attitude otherwise.
