I just wanted to apologize for my evil twin's abusive use of her excessively erudite vocabulary - "vitriolic histrionics" was a little over the top. :-) She will be disciplined severely by requiring her to read text messages like "LOL, r u still my BFF? C u 2 nite".
Peace - I had my little hissy fit - just had to get it off my chest. And I appreciate the very civil tone of most of today's posts. I'll get off my high horse now.

Our doggies are now home safe and sound. Found Angel up by our old place (thanks for the tip Jenny!) and Charlie must not have been far behind as he showed up at our gate only moments after I came home with Angel! Thanks again to anyone and everyone that kept an eye out for them today! Here's hoping we don't have to do that again anytime soon!

re: x-country training skis
According to Sheriff Pelle, they are NOT legal to use on the road. When I asked him about them he said his deputies will cite them if called.

There is a great option for rants and raves: craigslist. There are TONS of people there that have very strong opinions about the whole cycling issue: both mountain and plains people. There are also cyclists there with whom you can argue. The problem with this issue is that nobody really wants to compromise, and they are always asking the other side to take the initial step (dispite who may be wrong in the beginning). I have my own opinion regarding the whole issue, but in the end we all have to live together no matter how we feel. We all have our priorties. Are cyclist-related frustrations worth moving away from such a beautiful area and having a completely different way of life? For me they aren't, so I remain in the mountains.

Hi past trick or treaters: Sorry for the late posting - A very cute knitted pumpkin hat was placed atop my wooden gate in from of my home (second house on right as you head down lower main). I've left it there in case the owner was walking by and could just claim it - but alas it remains. Give me a call and I'll find a way to get it back to you. 303/664-1391. Have a beautiful day! ced

Jyoti (or any one else feeling the same) I'm not trying to run anyone off or disuade anyone from posting about town issues, I'm only requesting that we keep things as civil and un-anonymous as possible here. I enjoy debate and comment as much as anyone but when it starts to feel as if its becoming just a place for ranting or unresolvable questions then it looses its joy fast. I don't know how many have tried to spread the word of any event or issue around a small community in today's world, but the QT is an incredibly effective and efficient way to communicate in this town. I'd really like to see it remain that and not become exclusively a home for a select few to bicker or argue. I know that people have already abandoned this forum for various reasons, I'm confident in the QT's potential however and hope that we can avoid losing too many other people due to the tone of the forum.

Hollis--they'll be burning slash piles and possibly today where there is still a fair amount of snow. It all depends on the wind that is picking up. I'll have more information in about an hour (9:30 am). You can also call Dave Buchanan, Assistant Fire Management Officer/Boulder Ranger District at 303-541-2518.

I can only assume the post in question has been removed. Considering it may be my post anyone was referring to I re-read and found no swear words or other truly offensive words. Many people who are concerned about this issue were not at said meeting and thought they would appreciate an update, since I do not often see them in person (Nancy E. for one). I also know I DON'T stand alone in my perspective as I have spoken to many who agree but who may not have the guts to speak up.
I thought I stated clearly that at the basis of outrage is the fear of loss of life, whether cyclist, motorcyclist, or auto driver. Removing unsafe, and dangerous actions, laws and habits is CRUCIAL to saving a life and should never be ignored. I would question those willing to drop an issue where lives can easily be lost or people seriously injured.
So I ask again, "What's WRONG with single file?" I will continue to work for safety and reason in our canyon in hopes of saving a life.

The canine excrement problem has somehow remedied itself in my yard, Thanks! Can anyone tell me more about the controlled burn scheduled for 11/9/09? Are they just burning slash piles or the whole area outlined in the maps? Somehow I missed out on the details. I still a little weary about FIRE!

Morning All -
Charlie (Black lab/Chow mix - blue collar) and Angel (Springer Spaniel/Black lab/Chow mix - purple collar) both decided to take advantage of our accidentally open gate this morning and took off on a run. They will return on their own time (this is what they used to do back home in CA) but in case anyone in town sees them and you're successful in rangling them up would you please give us a call - 3o3 449 1129. Thanks!!

Heard and Agreed, time to move on. My apologies if my last post came off as vitriolic and hystrionic. At best, Nancy's word choice gave me a gleeful chuckle (thanks, Nancy), and at worst, made me realize I was slinging mud. Three cheers for Aaron R's suggestion that we talk about dog shit.
