Join us in raising funds and awareness for the Eastern Illinois Food Bank by having a great time reliving your Prom or experiencing your first Prom! This event will be for all ages 21 and over with enjoyable music to please everyone from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s 90’s and today. We will have many of the Prom traditions available for donation at the event such as your very own Prom picture, raffle to select the King and Queen, and single roses for your favorite lady or one you have your eye on ;-)!!

The VFW has been kind enough to donate the use of their facility and they will be running a full cash bar with fantastic prices: $1.50 Beer, $2.00 Well, $3.00 Call

We've remodeled!

Twelve second-hand kitchen cabinets with oak panel doors. All units are oak fronts with plywood carcasses. Three of the wall units have doors on both the front and back. Shelves are included with brass shelf hangars, many are lined. Kitchen sink and faucet included.

Do you know an outstanding young business professional that deserves to be recognized? The Central Illinois Business Magazine is sponsoring the second annual "Forty Under Forty" awards and nominations are now being accepted. Winners must be under the age of 40 (hence the name :-) and will be chosen based on achievement, experience, innovation, leadership and community involvement. Two people will be chosen among the 40 winners as Male and Female of the Year.

If you know someone who deserves recognition for their great leadership ability and dedication to community service, give them the recognition they deserve. Last year, Parkland's own Jen Smith was one of the "40 Under 40." This year, consider nominating another outstanding Parkland employee, a friend, an acquaintance, or even yourself. Winners will be recognized in the September issue of the Central Illinois Business Magazine and at an awards luncheon Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009.

CARPOOL? Hi. I live in Urbana (Lincoln and Nevada) and, starting in a couple weeks, will come in to teach and do work in Counseling and Advising every day, Monday through Friday, by 8 or 9am. Since I don't have a car, I take the bus every day. It's a nice ride, but it takes a while.

Is anyone coming by me in the morning who could pick up a rider? I am happy to contribute for the ride! And/or, if anyone is coming home from Parkland to Urbana at 5pm, that would be great, too.
