I spoke too soon. I just did a top command in Terminal and saw that Safari was up to 833m of memory used...holy cow...

I noticed the RAM use of Safari as well, but I also noticed that if you leave any Web browser running long enough that the RPRVT number grows. Mozilla grows to an even larger number than Safari.

As for Chimera, despite my efforts it refuses to do anything more than to crash on startup on my machine now, so I have effectively abandoned using it. All of this after doing a complete wipe of all Chimera settings and such from my machine and doing a reinstall with the newest nightly build this morning...

Chimera is my default browser, but I gave Safari another chance for the last couple days. Functionally it was fine, and nice and speedy of course, but I noticed that its RAM consumption was huge! Something like 140M of "RPRVT" with about half a dozen pages. Hopefully optimization for memory consumption is underway.

I want another update to Safari. Its shortcomings are starting to bother me. Anyone else?
