We compile a list of all new information from Women in London, and from this blog - womensgrid - and our blog of news by and about women’s issues in others countries - womensphere - together with information distributed via our women’s training and funding e-group (WiLT) which we send out via our WiL e-updates (to which you can subscribe) every 10 to 14 days. We also have a mailing list which we only send out about 2 or 3 times a year, ie around International Women’s Day and the 16 Days of Activism Against Violence Against Women and also if we carrying out a survey - eg last year we asked about women’s voting priorities in the forthcoming local elections.

A Women's Agenda in a time of sleaze and recession - June 2009
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just over a year ago we ran a quick survey to find out your thoughts on voting in the local and Mayoral elections of May 2008. A year later some of us have the opportunity to cast our votes in local elections as well as in the European elections. So we thought we would re-run the survey to see how, if at all, your political concerns and priorities have changed.
And because in the past 12 months little has changed in relation to funding women's core services such as rape crisis we want to ask that question again as well - see http://womensgrid.freecharity.org.uk/?p=2309.
However in the intervening 12 months we have all had to face the reality of the recession, banking practices creating a crisis in our financial systems and more recently revelations of sleaze in our Parliamentary system.
So we thought we would ask some additional questions on how any of these have impacted on you personally and on your voting intentions and faith in politics as practiced in the UK.
We realise that not everyone will be having local elections but either way please do add your opinions to help us create a picture of women's political priorities across the country.
The survey will stay open until 10pm on Tuesday 2nd June and we hope to get the results published the following evening, ie Wednesday 3rd June.
You can complete the survey online at http://www.surveygizmo.com/s/140114/survey...elections-june-2009
If you have any problems with this online survey because of accessibility issues we can send you a version as a word document. Please contact us - thanks!
DOCUMENTARY ABOUT FEMALE FRIENDSHIPS - Montambanco Productions
I'm a television producer/director and I'm currently making a documentary for Current TV (www.current.com) looking at the subject of female friendship. I'm looking for close female friends who might be interested in taking part and talking about their friendship.
The idea of the film is to explore how the nature of friendship has changed - with modern friends placing ever more demands on each others time, and emotions, what effect does this have on the relationships that follow? We'll be looking at what makes a friendship work, and what factors can lead to damaging friendships.
I'm looking to interview all types of close friends over the next couple of weeks - we will also have a friendship specialist taking part who can give advice on how to improve your relationship with your friend, if necessary.
If you might be interested in taking part, please drop me a line at katharineround@montambanco.com or give me a call on 020 3417 4909
Thanks again for all your help
Best wishes
Katharine
