Buen Dia!! How is everybody, a lot of things to do with my children, but I talked wiht my mother and father on Saturday and they gave me some input, specially mom because she is an art teacher too. Most likely today or tomorrow I will be sending Ivan the description of the action plan so he has something for Monday when they start school, there is a meeting of staff at the end of the day, and I think both my sister and him will like to introduce the idea to the staff.
Danielle the adoption of a classroom I have no idea how is it done, Ivan does not speak English at all, I can send you his email and my be he can make a connection with another teacher in the school,the school is up to I think ninth grade, they add a grade as they move along, is small but one of the best specially in English language. Kika, I think it would be better to send the description of the collaboration rather than the action plan if you haven't sent it already. For one I think to description better explains the collaboration and the entire direction we envision it going...where as the action plan is only showing our professors where we plan to be within a specific period of time (in this case by June). Secondly, I am not happy with the action plan. I feel like it does not give much information. It seems as though it keeps repeating the same thing again and again. I hope I caught you in time to not send it...if not, OH WELL!

Danielle, I haven't checked out the workshop on Apr. 23rd, but I will check it out. I might be out of town then, but if I'm not I will try to register for that one as well. I have registered for the workshop on Saturday.

Let me commend all of us for our work so far, it might not seem like much, but we've all managed to keep one another informed throgh this QuickTopic (which is a feat in and of itself), and considering 2 weeks ago we didn't have any clue what collaboration we were going to be part of and with whom, it seems to have all worked out for the best. "Everything happens for a reason."

I registered for that workshop on Apr. 23rd even though it said that it was not ready. It allowed me to register and it sounds great. If I am not going away I don't want to miss it, so I registered now to ensure myself (I hope) a spot if I am going to be around. I should know in the next couple of weeks if I will be around. Great!! I will look over the action plan again! I will also bring a hard copy of it to class next monday...we can go over it as a group and maybe ask for some input from our profs!! Also, I was going to try to base my assignment 1-dreamweaver project around our collaboration...it can be a start to our real web page...is that what you guys are doing? what should we call it?? Classroom Web Connection?? Anything sounds good to me! let me know any ideas!

I've been calling this the Classroom to Classroom Portal Project (CtCP) when discussing it with my dad. This is how you will see it refered in any of the email conversations between my father and myself (and any contacts he has made) If you want we can keep it and keep things consistant, or if anyone objects to that name we can call it anything else you'd like.

I was just speaking to one of the heads of technology here at Lynbrook and she was a former member of TEAM. She said that if we find another school to connect with (hopefully the one in Argentina) we can use my class and the equipment here at Lynbrook! Apparently we have a room that is set up and some new cameras!

That was great news. It must be nice to be in a district that is helpful and willing to try new ideas. I am not so lucky. I don't know how things are moving along with the school is Argentina, and Kika might be making that connection in her classroom, but I'm sure we can find another school if that doesn't work. I know that there is a school in Portugal (and I believe the language is somewhat similar, but I could be wrong). I mentioned to Kika at a workshop that I got an email asking me to join a conference call with all the people that are involved with this project. The conference call will take place on March 25th and I will be sure to keep you both updated on the discussions. I'M SO EXCITED ABOUT THE WAY THINGS ARE SHAPING UP!!! I will see you both on Monday.

It's great that you are doing a webpage for our collaboration. I am not having any luck with Dreamweaver and I wasn't doing my webpage on our collaboration, but it makes sense. Perhaps if you are having some success you might be able to help me. I don't know how Kika is doing but I feel like I'm ready to give up with Dreamweaver. I will talk to both of you tomorrow.

I know we don't have class Monday, but I signed up for the EEV collaboration workshop! Have you guys? It would be great to get together! If not, maybe I can get some help with Dreamweaver and work on our web page....We'll see, so let me know if you are going! Also, I just got approved to bring 4 kids to the May 20th celebration...hopefully we can be connected to another country by then and have my kids speak! Kika, are you bringing any kids?

Today I talked to my sister they are waiting for us now to tell them what they need, and put the children to work in the Peace or any other topic that we think could be appropiate for this time.!!

Hola, yesterday my sister called me, she has the first grade students working, she told me that one of the children draw helicopters dropping harts instead of bombs, this tell us that children all over the world are watching the news. She told me that she will choose some of the drawings and take digital pictures of them. I mentioned to her how to write only the first name, grade, shcool and country only. They are close today becuase is a holiday remembering the Falkland War, I will be home early tomorrow so I am going to try to talk to Ivan, the computer teacher to have a sence of what they have. I will not go away during the break so I will come to the collaboration, maybe we can plan a something for us to get together that week. Please lets plan ahaead. gracias kika

I signed up for two workshops over the break...the eev collaboration workshop and the one on videoconferencing...maybe we could go to them together?? we could probably get a lot done! let me know..they are on tues and wed, i think from 4:30-6???
