Congrats on the new addition to the family. I'm curious as to how it turns out. Can't wait to read the blogs.
I would think it will be rugged. My wife's 14.1" iBook takes a beating and is still tip top. Even after several crashes to the floor from the arm of the couch, while running, connected to the internet, and the screen open!!

Ed, do you really think that would help?
Thad, yeah, I will likely do some swapping of parts between Natalie's current Pismo and my current Pismo, including swapping out the top plastics that are cracked on my machine and starting to crack but not nearly so bad on her machine. Thankfully it appears that Natalie's machine will keep running as long as the LCD is not moved in any way and the machine remains stationary. In other words, it cannot be used as a laptop at the moment. If this continues to be the case then I may repurpose the machine as an iTunes server hooked to our stereo...
