It seems to me that the party shouldn't limit itself to only these two candidates for chair. There are plenty of worthy candidates to draw upon. Why not allow for a vigorous debate on the future direction of the party?

But, alas, I'm not the ultimate deciding authority in the matter; and internal, messy party struggles never are appreciated by the apparatus...
