My family was on the news last week. I have a very big family of four brother's and three sister's.
My mother and sister planed a trip to render some items
for a care packet. It was nice to see my mother in her
10 min. of glory in showbiz. It realy did turn out very nice. My mother has a lot of faith in God and it makes it easier to make it through this trying time.
We also went to Clevelend last week for a rally to support
the troop's. There was an outstanding outcome of 10,000 people that showed up to suport our troop's and are nation.
This my seem like a very trying time to get through, but if you pray and keep a strong faith in God this will be a walk in the park for are troop's.
   The key thing here is to stay strong, keep are color's flying flying high, and are prayer's for are troop's and are nation to return home quickly, with mission acomplished.

I wish our tv stations would televise rallies IN SUPPORT of our troops -- instead, all we ever see are the protesters and that angers me when I think of the sacrifices the troops are making on our behalf (and on the protesters' behalf!!). It's incredible to think you were present with 10,000 individuals supporting our troops. Thanks for sharing that experience.

I was able to find more information about my son's battalion in Kuwait by going to the 130th Engineer's website and reading articles there. It helped.

It realy souldn't surprise you that the media didn't cover the rally to support the troop's. All that we saw on the news was a 30 second clip of "Rally in Clevelend"
That's all thay said was there was only a "1,000 people" that showed up for this rally to suport the troop's.
That was the local news here in Cincinnati Ohio.
Thay forfot to put another zero on the end of 1,000.
It was a four hour dirve each way to Clevlend, and it was very cold there on the "River Walk". My ant and uncl's went up with us to. We couldn't go in to the restaurant's on the "River Walk" due to, too many people there.
It's a small price to pay, compared to what are troop's are offering up for us. It only takes one person to get the ball rolling to start a rally.
My mother is tring to start one here for Cincinnati.
Knowing my mother she will have a bigger turn out than Clevlend. Just joking, but it will be nice for Cincinnati.

Racism stems from social attitudes that are perpetuated by racist societies, the media, the authoritarians, and the peers. It's time to say, shame on all those who perpetuate racism and racist attitudes.

Jeff, how did things turn out for your brother and your family?

My son ended up doing two one-year tours to Iraq -- 2003 and 2005. His son was nine days old when James deployed the second time. He missed that little boy's first year, but now they are all together. After the second tour, James opted not to re-enlist, ending six years in the U.S. Army. He is now living state-side with his wife and two children...happy to be home every night.
