I have read your posts and from an Australian point of view you guys have nothing to complain about. I ordered my 12" Powerbook though an authorised apple dealer in a small regional centre in Australia 5 weeks ago and I am still waiting. Apple have advised me and the apple dealer they have no stock in Australia and are unable to tell me when I can expect delivery. And I thought Apple was supposed to be easy to use, well I am finding mine impossible at the moment. This has really tarnished my Apple experience and I havn't even got it yet.

I knew I would be playing a bit of a waiting game by buying the 12-inch PowerBook from the Apple Store, but after hearing some customer feedback stories about how Apple was being much easier on people who were having problems with these new machines if they had ordered them directly from Apple, I figured it was worth it. Add the fact that I wanted it built to order with the 60 GB hard drive and SuperDrive and there was no way I could find such a machine locally.

The end result, I waited seven days from order to delivery, it looks like - unless the machine is held up for some reason in Alaska tonight. Oddly enough, if the machine had arrived in a day or two I wouldn't be being this pathetic about it...

Hi it is kind of pathetic, but also understandable. We've been there. I ordered a new machine couple weeks ago and got it delivered the next day before 11am which totaly ruined my work day - e.g. I was hapy, but no work got done. MacZone was a great deal and fast to deliver. I guess it is better to order from other on-line retailer than from Apple. I saw 12'' machine in some on-line stores and they claimed to have it in stock. Well I guess warning for next time...

that is what we go through for anything. I live on a island where fedex packages are delivered by two flights daily. you order overnight shipping, you get it here in no less than 3 days!

Do they offer that Apple time conversion tool on the Apple Store site? They should...

I don't have anything to say about the powerbook, but I do have a 3 month engraved iPod horror story that I can share...
moral of it is, when they say 6 days, count on 3 weeks, I forgot to do the real world time to Apple time conversion...
