Even creating the possibility of that is a huge break from the rights that Americans have fought hard to create and maintain since the beginnings of this country. Yes, some of this sounds pretty alarmist. But when hard core Republicans in Congress are starting to assert that the executive branch of our government is getting out of hand then everyone in America should start questioning just how much we want to turn the country into a police state in an effort to supposedly save ourselves from some random terrorist attack.
