Freddy, there's nothing you can do to prepare yourself or your daughter for what lays ahead. Sometimes the universe is a good playmate . . . sometimes it's not. Just be there for them.

And make sure they know what good music is!

I was sitting here trying to figure out at what point in my life did friendship become complicated, and I'm pretty sure it was around 3rd grade. That's when the girls formed cliques and the boys started to be more trouble than they were worth. Oh man. Grade school. The back-stabbing, the rumors, the name-calling, ostracizing, teasing, bullying... What were we THINKING sending another innocent human being into that hole?

I haven't been there yet, but my time is to come. I have 2 girls, 2 years and 9 months old. The youngest hasn't had anything more than normal baby stuff yet, but the oldest has had moments relative to that for a 2 year old I think.

It tough now and obviously won't get any easier. I feel for you, I can't imagine what it's going to do to me when they get to that age.
