April,
I am glad you enjoyed our video.
Cats like to surprise you. You should know that! LOL!
How was your walk w/Eric?

I have been running, walking, hooping and lifting weights.

i can't remember if i've told you this or not

but to all who knew about my beloved cat chloe . . .
one year and 2 months after we lost her, we got 2 new kittens (on may 16)

a tabby female (harlowe)
and a black and white HUGE male, with a moustache (mr. smith)

they're great fun
but SO MUCH WORK!
very adorable

i took mr. smith (our cat) to get his stitches out this morning (from his neutering)
they brought him back out and said "he doesn't have any sutures, but his surgical site looks good"
WHAT?!
then why did they tell me to bring him back in 10 days to remove them?
(sheeeeeesh)
and you know how much cats like car rides :(

hey all!

hi again missy!! (smooch smooch)
walking 18 holes is a lot of exercise - good for you!

great video, rachel jane!
i loved it

i am so tired . . .

i've been busy finishing up all of the requirements for my "am i hungry?" licensing
(so that i can conduct workshops)
LOTS to do! but i'm getting there
very close to being done now

i've also been researching physics classes for alexander (for this fall)

he got his cast/spacers off/out today
his nose is very swollen, but it looks good (and he can already breathe better)

and nicholas has an unexplained mole (at least that's what we think it is) that is going to get checked out tomorrow
i couldn't get him in to see my wonderful dermatologist until january (!)
so he's seeing the physician's assistant (which i'm not as happy about)
he doesn't even know he's going yet because he freaks out about doctor appointments
(he worries way too much)

i also have to go to a 4-hour CPR training tomorrow night
(for my leslie sansone walk leader certification)
i am extremely squeamish and almost fainted the last time i took this course
(when i worked at a hospital)

so please think of both alexander and nicholas (and me too!) if you have a chance

eric and i are going to take the dogs for a walk
(it's already 11:20 but we stay up late)

take care, and have a good tuesday

April, I sent the attachment. Let me know if it works.

Rachel, we have a golden as well (I think you knew that!) and he just turned three. He is a total love - all 100 pounds of him! We whisper in his ear that he is a s-l-u-t because he'd go home with anyone. ;^) I know that is a tad rude, but it fits. He is so happy when he sees people that if we don't give him a command, he spins...all 6 feet of him. His tail is could take out a grown man. My border collie and aussie are friendly but they warm up to it in a few seconds. They are much more discerning about to whom they give away their love. Temperament wise: DH and J are golden retrievers, L and I are herding dogs.

Missy, Love you, Girl! How is you hole in the ground? It is good to be running again. Every now and again I have some fear kick in and I have to remind myself that moderate running will not throw me into a flare. When I ran/walked with DH on Thursday, I felt GREAT for the whole run.

April, hope your oldest is recovering well from his surgery and I'm happy you are bring him home again. Praying for you and your family as you have many things going on this summer!

RJ, it's always a guaranteed smile on my face when I know you've been playing/training with your dogs. :) It's good to see you running again too!

Rachel, yay for you on the c25K training. As for Benson, he is such a sweetie! I love Goldens' personalities. Our friends in Ft Gibson have a very, very friendly golden that on the weekends they take with them to their cabin on the Illinois River. He often socializes with those rafting/canoeing/kayaking through, so much so that they had a tag made for him that says, "Buster the River Dog --PLEASE DON'T STEAL ME!" LOL. Our golden mix sure has the golden personality imo. Love it!

Hollie, I'm glad you're finding time to fit in some Leslie and exercise...I know you have much going on your way too.

Today I did not exercise. I followed my son for 18 holes of golf on Thursday, and did much walking on Friday before and during the races. Today my feet hurt. I hope to do something tomorrow.

Again, it's good to see you all posting here. :)

April - I think it's so cool your trying to figure out the best place to be. I'm not always happy with where I live but I love the HSing freedom here. Where did you get your fit momma shirt?

RJ - I love love love that your work with your cool canines like you do! We love our golden so much. I'm sure he needs more walks than he gets. Now I wish that when he was a pup, we would have done some training classes with him. We tried to do some stuff on our own, just by reading books but I think he would have benefitted from actual classes. He's an awesome, great family dog - very very friendly - but sometimes too much so. He's just so happy and... friendly. I'm always afraid he'd go home with just anyone. And he's MINE! LOL

I am only officially training Frazz, but the other dogs get taught some of the moves. I have not competed yet and I am not entirely sure that I will, but probably. The rules are getting much more strict and I like having some tricks and jumps - more like lyrical dance than heeling to music. I want to tell a story or show my relationship w/Frazier more than I want to look perfect and be sure to have all the right moves to the proper length of music. My hearts desire is to do it for charities and such. In the meantime, it sure is fun!

If you'd like to see what I have done so far, I can send you a link to it if you email me. DH taped it so I could watch for timing and miscues and such.

that sounds neat, rj
what kind of "dancing" do the dogs do?
do all of your doggies participate or only your youngest?
will you eventually compete (or have you been already)?

Yesterday was a Canine Musical Freestyle seminar and was loads of fun, but exhausting. The instructor was fabulous with the pups and had much practical and artistic info to share.

Today I hooped, lifted weights, and had another Freestyle class.
I decided not to run today since I am still tired from the seminar. Hopefully I will have a chance to run tomorrow. =*D
What have you all been up to?

Hey ya'll!

I have exercised about 6 times in the last two weeks. The last time was Monday with my new DVD--Jillian Shred! Whew..I needed to get back to it, but it has been chaotic. Really liked it, though. Level 1 that is...only about half of which I finished. LOL!

Been wearing my Fit Mommas shirt and praying for you!

Hugs friends!

rachel jane!!
wish i could give you a big hug!

congratulations on running again
i know how much you've missed it
the shimmy!? (wow!)

thanks for answering my C25K question
i kept seeing it as "25", not "to 5"
and i do remember it now

yes, i think the walk leader training will fit in perfectly with what i'm trying to do
i'd love for you to come be my client!
i'm just wrapping up my "am i hungry?" training too and will soon be a licensed facilitator in that

we're still trying to figure out where we want to LIVE
our options have opened up again since eric sold his company and alexander is going to self-educate (that sounds like a more accurate term for my 16yo junior!)
too many choices

take care, and thanks for thinking of me :)

April!!!
HI! I think about you all of the time. I had started to wonder if you moved or something.
c25k is couch to 5k running program. Remember Missy and I did it in 2004 and 2005?

Boston? Pennsylvania? You're almost in my neck of the woods! The training seminar sounds like FUN. And something you can use in your workshops and if you take you workshops into a private practice. I'll come and be your client!

Hope your baby boy heals quickly.

I have begun running again, but I am taking it slow and easy as much as possible.
Today I lifted weights, hooped, and did the shimmy class on fitTV. :)
