We had Chris and his associate Jenny here in Duncanville last January and it was quite a treat...seeing this man work in person added a new and wonderful dimension to the understanding that we had from just reading his ideas - his work The Production of Houses is often overlooked and is a great validation of his ideas in The Timeless Way of Building and Pattern Language...he's a good guy too!

Had a wonderful time on a recent holiday sketching, phtographing carpets to internalise the fifteen principles. Does anyone know the likely publishing?distribution dates of the next (three) volumes??

Many thanks for an email

A friend in Seattle writes that it's actually published now and that he has a copy in hand - good news after a long wait.

"A Pattern Language" was a major source of inspiration for our industrial design team as we developed the architectural logic of the "Ethospace Office System" for Herman Miller. It led us to some remarkable insights about the nature of the social workspace. I'm anxious to read Alexander's newest insights on the nature of living structure without limitation by mere architectural space.
