Through links you seem to imply that having each site package up their content for search engines would be better than being crawled. I used to think this but I've since changed my mind. Can you name some of the benefits?

Have you noticed that jpg's taken with S400 doesn't store the ISO sensitivity (i.e. ISO 50/100/200/400) in EXIF section? Or at least, not in any of the tags that exiftags or jhead understand....

Nelson, it was nice meeting you at the conference. Like you, I also enjoyed the IRC component of the conference. There were some great discussions going on in there. I also enjoyed your talk and hope to run into you again in the future.

john, distributing advertising is a way of focusing on the reader. AdSense can act as an aggregator for small independent sites that can't afford to find ads for themselves, those sites in turn provide lots of value for Google users. Sometimes the business model is important too.

I grew up 60 miles away from Hanford. Now I live in California, 900 miles away from Hanford.

No more Hanfords!

You forgot to mention that the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission also approved $3 BILLION in settlement to the state of California as a result of the energy crisis. If California wasnt so anti-nuclear power they wouldnt be as vulnerable to things like the recent crisis. Wind farms are nice, but they sure take up a lot of land.

Re: perl string comparisons - This sort of nonsense is to be expected from perl. What's really disappointing is that java gets this wrong too.

I've also been disappointed that RSS is non-presentational. It severely cuts into the experience of the site; often when I'm zipping through new items in my reader I lose track of who the writer is. I've long wished there were an alternative feed format that would display posts in the style of the site.
