In my opinion, this is a very good add-on diploma to your qualifications. Much of it is theory which gives the basis for training. A lot will also be old material for you as it sets context for HRD. However, the training methods and the new papers on e-learning are very useful. If you want to get into training the diploma (if you work sincerely on it and not just pass the exam) can be useful information and practice for you. As a lecturer you will have plenty of opportunity to try out the principles and practices in the course.
All the best.

Hi to all and one, I am aspiring to complete my ISTD diploma by June' 09. I am looking forward to enroll myself with Oracle SQL or SAP LMS. Would some body suggest me if any thing else will be more effective as a Trainer to develop myself.

To gv u a brief background of mine. Had been working into Sales & operation for 4 year and HR for 1 Year.

I have recently moved to Training, where i am doing a training co-ordinators job. But need to polish myself in content development & Facilitation Skills.

Kindly suggest a way forward.

Hi Mukta,

You may refer to the Reference book that you have received from the ISTD office, if you look forward just to score great in you exams. But if you are looking forward for your personnal development plan then you have plathora of books online that you can refer to and practice.

Hi friends. I am Master in Social Work with specialization in HRM and community work and have been associated with NGOs for the last 6 years. Now I am planning to shift to the corporate world in the HRD department. Can anybody tell me that this diploma will help and to what extent. How are the placement services of ISTD?
thanks

ISTD helps you build your Resume, whereas will not support you for finding a job.

But mentioning the Certification will make you attached to most of the HRs and their ISTDian Buddy.

The diploma programme in T & D is a very good course.

The professionals who are in HR area of Training find it very useful.

ISTD should also run a PG Degree course in TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT.

Keep it up Indian Trainers !!!
