The diploma programme in T & D is a very good course.

The professionals who are in HR area of Training find it very useful.

ISTD should also run a PG Degree course in TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT.

In my opinion, this is a very good add-on diploma to your qualifications. Much of it is theory which gives the basis for training. A lot will also be old material for you as it sets context for HRD. However, the training methods and the new papers on e-learning are very useful. If you want to get into training the diploma (if you work sincerely on it and not just pass the exam) can be useful information and practice for you. As a lecturer you will have plenty of opportunity to try out the principles and practices in the course.

I have submitted request letter to Executive Director about the reassement of my answer sheet for Paper No-1(Organisational Behaviour) conducted on December-2005. My roll No is 14175. I have scored 62 % aggregate mark for remaining 7 papers on my first trial but declared failed twice in the same paper for the margin of 2 and 4 marks in the same paper no-1. This is higly frustrating and discouraging. I am very confident about my sucess but unfortunately i am not getting any response from your office .

Hi Katherine
If you feel you can do the ISTD response sheets in an hour it may be disappointing to know that there is no quick-fix for this. You will have to put in a bit of research for each response. You do have some choices, so a quick browse through the material would help you understand which responses are good for you.
I run a Branch of a national level organization with several departments and several levels of activity. So being employed is not really a good reason -- in fact distance learning is specifically for the employed. Despite this I felt that the real value of the diploma was in seriously attempting the material even if it takes a semester longer. It took me two years to complete but I did a decent job. You wont regret the time spent in actually doing the work yourself -- it pays in basic knowledge and attitude.

I completed the ISTD Diploma in 2004 with decent grades. At the age of 50, taking up the challenge of doing exams was quite an experience. I am sure that my several years of hands-on training helped by reducing the amount of study required. I would be interested in knowing, from the fresh new students on this board, what difficulties they face in preparing for the Diploma. Also, a one-liner on WHY you are doing the Diploma. Do you think we should start another discussion topic for this?

Hi i have just enrolled in the course in the July 2005 batch. i am currently located in pune and i would like to know about the seniors from pune who can guide me in doing the course.

I am enrolled for ISTD Batch 52. Inspite of repeated attempts at registering on the ISTD site, I haven't been able to do so yet. Could you please let me know if registering for existing students is possible at this time on the site?

I am a student member registered in 2002,but could not appear for any exam sofar due to unavoidable reasons.I tried to register through the website as a student member several times,but invain.The error simply directs to énter the correct details,without any details.The problem may be with country code,STD code etc., in the format.The portal does not provide any details on this.Registration part of the Portal is poorly designed. ISTD being an Indian diploma, likewise what are some of the international degrees/ diplomas (regular classroom courses/ part-time/ distance learning/ online) in Training & Devt. What foreign univs provide such courses of repute?

Kindly give some concrete information about placements happening at ISTD.

In recent june examination,Icompleted all six papers succesfully.
Now do I wait for ISTD instuctions or should I proceed for the internship project.
