I would like to say to all, that the messages on this board are valuable tools. In my search for information about my Uncle, and after many post, it led me to an Astronaut, whose name I will withhold for respect of his privacy. This Astronaut was kind enough, after hearing the story of my Uncle Lt. Melvin C. Roach, who was a hero in his time, that he carried Lt. Roachs' DFC on a mission to the Space Lab and return. I am grateful to Frank O'Connor for the administration, and the maintaining of this web site. I say a big thank you.

I am seeking information on William A. Parsons, who is listed as KIA during WW II on the Essex web site. Does anyone remember him? His home town would love to honor and recognize his sacrifice in the local museum.
Thanks!

Hi,

I posted a few days ago about liking to know if anyone knew my father, Murray Lee Jackson. He served on the Essex during the kamikaze attack. What I forgot to add was that he was called, "Jack", and was from Mississippi. Thank you all so much.

I am searching for information on Jack B.D. Thomas who served on the USS Esssex from 1951-1954. He was a boiler tender (BT3). I am attempting to gather information on Jack Thomas for his son Robert. Jack died in the mid 1960's in a horse related incident and I'm putting together a memorial of his military service. Please contact me, Michael at cowboyhatz@aol.com.
