I was tripping thru the internet and googled your partents, john and Polly. I was so surprised to see your face pop up. You look quite a bit different from when we last saw you in the 60's. I imagine that we all look a bit different too. We lived across the street from you and your sisters and parents. My parents are Frank (deceseased) and Rene Pilny. My brothers are Jim and Bob. We still live in Willoughby and my Mom actually still lives in the same house. The only thing that has changed is it isn't green anymore. Please get in touch with me. I can be reached at barbritzu@hotmail.com or on Facebook.com

Hello all, Thank you for all the wonderful get well wishes you have sent to me. Everyone's cards and flowers have been a great joy for me to have. They have brought me much happiness and I thank you all so much. It has been nearly five weeks since my transplant and I am feeling so good. No more shortness of breath, no more oxyen. The doctors said I am doing very well and I had my second broncoscopy today. My pulmunary doctor said I may be able to go home in a day or so. That is such good news. I want to take time to thank Donna Murray for passing along the information of my transplant to all our friends on the transplant support group web sites. Donna, I continue to pray for you to get your call very soon!! I hope all is well with you. I hope to get back to the chats as soon as I am home on my own computer. I cannot say enough good things about the Cleveland Clinic. What a wonderful facility. They have taken such good care of me, the doctors and nurses are wonderful. You really are made to feel so special with all the TLC you receive from everyone. Although there are some parts I don't remember during my stay in the ICU, I think that is for the best. Lot's of drugs to keep me sedated. I am now in the step down unit with my husband while we learn how to take all the medications and breathing treatments and check my blood sugar levels for diabetes, and give myself insulin shots when necessary. I am also taking dialysis for the temporay loss of kidney function. I look forward to getting back to chatting with all of you, and hope you are all well. Thanks again for all of your prayers. I have been truly blessed by our Lord Jesus Christ with this great gift. I pray that HE will hold the Donor family in his hands and bring them comfort during this overwhelmingly difficult time. Grant them his Divine Grace for the loss they have suffered and the most unselfish gift that they given others, including me. That is the hardest part about organ donation, is that someone has to die. From the bottom of my heart, I am truly grateful to that family for making the ultimate sacrifice. During this Holiday Season may we all remember what the real meaning of Christmas is all about. For GOD so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that who so ever believith in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. I received the most wonderful Christmas present on November 21, 2003. Much love to all, Jill Negaard, Heart & Double Lung Transplant, Cleveland Clinic Hospital, Cleveland, Ohio - December 22,2003

I got to talk to Jill on the phone yesterday. She sounded great - in very good spirits and said she was feeling better every day. We spent a quite a while laughing. Jill has some pretty good stories to share. My sister Sonnie and I are going back on Sunday to visit - can't wait to see her.

The name of the woman who recieved the heart/lung transplant at clevelnad Clinic today is Terri Hoilman, she is doing well at this time. I was told she was only on the list about 2 months and was hospitalized the whole time, so she may not have been to any of the support sites.

Gordon,
Thank You so much for the update and certainly give me the other ladies name and I will ask everyone for prayers. Let Jill know that we are all thinking of her and send our love. I have posted this new update on the two sites so her friends can keep up with her great progress!
Blessings
Donna

Jill is recovering fine with the only real problem being her kidney function. The doctors seem to think it will come back from the shock it recieved during the transplant. Because of this she is getting dialysis every other day. She is now starting to eat and hopefully she will be moved out of ICU into a regular room soon.
Today Dr Pettersson performed a heart and double lung trsnsplant on a 33 year old woman from Syracuse, NY. This is the second in 2 weeks here, with Jill being the other. This woman was hospitalized here for a while before the transplant. Because she had undergone a number of open heart surgeries she had a little more complicated surgical procedure than Jill. I talked to her husband for a while. I found out her works at Fitzpatrick Nuclear Generating Station in NY. since I work at the Enrico Fermi Nuclear Generating station we had more in common than just the health of our wives. He is originally from the Detroit Area and had interviewed for a job with my company. Since his wife was on the list a short time I'm not sure if any of Jill's friends From the Transplant Support Groups know her. When I get her name I will list it. She is in the ICU that Jill is in and can use some prayers and blessings also.
As for Jill's site, I will try to do more updating this weekend. She is doing well, but has had some strange dreams due to the medicine she is on. Her sister Gerri was laughing pretty hard after Jill described her dreams. It's good to be able to laugh and enjoy ourselves. Jill wants to get in contact with all of you as soon as she is able.
Thank You all from both of us.

Sonnie and I saw Jill on Sunday. She has the prettiest rosie checks. We decided she looks younger than us! She always did have great skin. They had her sleeping because she needed to rest, so we didn't get to talk to her, but I think she knew we were there. We found the perfect stuffed animal to keep her company (a Westie!). I talked to Gordon today and he said that Jill is continuing to get better and that they took her off the ventilator.
