Even if it is the real thing, while it was missing they could have sold a bunch of copies to wealthy collectors who assumed they were buying the real thing--like they did with the Mona Lisa. They'd be too ashamed to come forward now. Scary.

What's scary about that? The way I see it, if you're such a crook that you'd knowingly buy the Mona Lisa (or even the Lego Stanley Cup) from a thief, then who cares if you get burned?

Heard a live interview with a lego official last week. She said the stanley cup legos are bonded with a special glue, which, presumably, could be identified by the Enfield scientists as authentic. This is the kind of world-shaking stuff where I'm carving my niche.
