Oh, I don't know. Anytime a song like "Butterflies" comes up in shuffle play, I always have to look to see who it's by, and I'm always like, "Oh yeah. Toad the Wet Sprocket".

"Hold Her Down" off the same disc, Fear, is a solid song too. It sounds a bit like a watered down Social Distortion, but it's still a nice little song.

The one I never got was Pearl Jam - annoying little whiney mother humper. Every time one of their songs comes on the radio, I just want to claw my ears out.

Of course, as I was just mentioning here: http://www.metafilter.com/mefi/23410#432007 my taste is probably a bit questionable, so you may want to take that with a few grains of pepper.

See, thing is, I really wanted to like them. People I liked liked them. The were all laid back and melancholy and that's cool and all, but God, was it ever boring. I can barely make it awake through any single song, much less a whole album.

Hey, I think they're a damn fine band. Just had no idea they were still together and making music.

Hey, the price was right. And besides, if a friend said they had a free extra ticket to a concert (by a band that didn't suck) and asked you if you wanted to go, wouldn't you?
