I don't really agree that it gets consumers to behave the way they want us to. quite the opposite, its measuring our response to their message, we are getting them to behave in a way that most pleases us. They have to change our message, not our response.

Maybe it's figuring out how to market to the subconsciousnesses of the kind of people whose subconsciousnesses lead them to participate in this kind of experiment?
