Beth,
Check out your URL for YOUR website. I think you've flip flopped- it comes up as unknown. Looks like you put the < . > after 'com' instead of before!.

Rob-
Any input on the idea of all of us using this as a 'short notice' link for you while you're in Saudi?

Hi Mom,

The scarf is the purple rayon chenille one I left in the closet.
We've also been missing a pair of black leather ski mitts that Sam might have left down there a while back. They have a brand name embossed on the back of the palm- something that starts with R. Holler if you see them.
I fixed the link to my site- thanks. Should have checked that when I put it up.

If you want Rob to get your message from the bulletin board, you'll probably have to email it to him privately as well. I don't think he has subscribed to the bulletin board as yet, so he won't see it unless he happens to go on there.

Love,
Beth

OK, I subscribed. This better not generate a bunch of spam from the web host!

I don't think it will be a problem, Rob- I checked the host out and they look pretty legit. Actually, I thought doing this would be safer than putting our email addys on our home pages, where the "spam trolls" would be sure to find them. This way your email addy doesn't appear in the code for the page, as it does in newsgroup archives etc.
Not that there's any sure cure for spam, spam, spam, spam, .....;-) Beth

Hooray for Bethany!! It's a really great page--but only what one would expect considering the subjects! I trust every one survived New Year's--man don't the years roll by fast. I've just replaced the RAM in my Dell computer but it hasn't solved my problem which is that every time I try to access a Word file the computer hangs up. Otherwise it works fine. I've consulted with the experts in the local computer club but so far to no avail. Any suggestions? John

Sorry, John- don't think any of us are much help! We're all Mac users! I did pride myself in finding a way to open up copy in 5.1 instead of having it come up in Word:2001 even though it was created in 5.1! I leave this stuff up to DML and he doesn't do PC!
Hope you had a great Christmas and a safe Happy New Year. We're having a minor bli-zard today. Should get lots done at the desk and in the sewing room.
Love to all,
Kathy

I've just put a few new pix up in Rob's family album- Ben with his snowman (a big one for Virginia!), and a couple of pix from Dwight (DML and Rob rappeling on Otter Cliffs, and one of Rob's listening room.)

Looks like the 'Wonder wall" to me! Jerry and DML tried to put me over that one- with nothing but the ocean underneath- but I opted to start with something simplier! Glad you put up Ben's snowman because I couldn't find an option for opening it. That's a pretty impressive sound room. Bet the Saudi base won't be able to match that!

Rob sent a couple new pix before heading off to the desert tonight. They are up on his family page.
Bon Voyage, Rob!

Greetings from Germany! We're at a crew change and refueling stop in Frankfurt. Smooth trip so far, except for the unexpected refueling stop in Gander, Newfoundland at 3 AM. After they realized at BWI that we were too heavy to make it without the stop, the flight attendent announced "Non-stop service to Gander, with continuing service to Frankfurt." What, pray tell, is not a "non-stop" flight these days? I guess it's only a "stop" if it happens in mid-air.

Sam has a story up on his pages:

or follow the link from his Art page to
"The Wolf Who Cried Boy".
He did the illustration on the computer, in Painter Classic.

Greetings! I made it in one piece. I'm settling in for my first night shift. The room is not bad at all...it even has a brand new computer with net access, so I can check mail pretty much 24/7. Hope all's well back home with everyone.

For all the clan, here's a copy and paste of Rob's email to me re: Steve.
Boy, and I thought I was remote! Actually, it's about a tie on distance, I
think. Steve's about 133 degrees of latitude away (about 8000 miles), and
I'm about 115 degrees of longitude away, and 1200 miles south ...again,
roughly 8000 miles. But I'll concede Steve's further off the beaten
track...Dad would be proud of him for finding the ultimate backroad
"shortcut".

Heard a report on Maine Public Radio a few days ago about a prof from Maine who was recently at McMurdo doing tests on the ice and snow. He mentioned the Caterpillars they use to get around- small world! ;-)
