Hi everyone. We're back from the Arabian/Half-Arabian US Nationals in Tulsa with an update as promised. I dun good!! I am so pleased:) My Half-Arab, ICE+, and I won a Top Ten in the Open division of Show Hack. I was the only amateur to win in the division of pros We beat a lot of trainers and nice horses. ICE+ is doing so well! Unfortunately, I had a pilot error in my amateur class and was left out. I bumped him with my leg by accident and he took a couple steps of a canter right in front of two judges. Oh well, the Open class overshadows the amateur by a long shot:)

The Missouri Big Irons CMSA club (the Miller Family) brought a few Arabians to the show to showcase mounted shooting (just like last year when I learned about it) This time they had a competition of the disciplines with trainers shooting (for the first time). It was a huge success. It drew big crowds and the trainers really loved doing it. I think it sparked a lot of interest in the Arabian industry and their is talk about making it a class next year. That's great for the breed and for the sport!

Yes, the "Runnin' Iron Carbine" revolving carbine is what many of us refer to as a "girlie rifle" :-)

We've been working with Taylor's and have TWO new rifles coming out specifically for mounted shooting:
The "Runnin' Comanchero" '73 and the "Runnin' Iron Carbine" revolving carbine. The '73 is a 16" carbine with lowered and rounded front site, action job, short stroke, lever wrap and butt cover. The revolving carbine has lowered hammer and action job. Both will be out in a couple of months. The new mounted shooting pistol "Runnin Iron" will be out very soon. I know some of you have seen them in the Taylor's booth at M-boro and Amarillo...
