The only thing they'll be mopping up is our blood after they take over.

"so if the robot could clean and mop for the 3 shifts,"
That's the rub. Not the three shifts, the "clean and mop" part.

No sir, not even that long. They are already available for rent for $170,000 per year. A 10-year (unionized) janitor made over $40,000/yr at a large defense contractor where I used to work.
The man is worth $40,000 per year per shift 2 shifts of these men is $80,000, and 3 shifts makes $120,000
so if the robot could clean and mop for the 3 shifts, its only $120k vs $170k - AND THAT IS TODAY
If that 50k difference drops by 5k per year, in 10 years its parity (ideal 3 shift unbroke-down robot not withstanding)

How long do you think it will be until Asimo and other members of his clan replace humans in menial jobs such as janitor, short order cook, light assembly, etc.? My guess: 20 years.

Honda engineers are confident that they will someday cure Asimo of his unfortunate tendency to yank the fingers off of people who shake his hand.
And then there's that unseemly behavioral "Easter Egg" that kicks in when an Aibo comes within reach.
