Wow. I guess all that waitin' in line at Kmart sure makes folks cranky. <smile>

I'm the biggest retail whore in the universe. I didn't participate in Buy Nothing Day, but I respect the sentiment of its organizers and participants--there's a downside to overconsumption, and that "we need space for values outside the commercial imperative."

Spend a minute on the adbusters site... read for yourself. BND isn't "buy nothing for the rest of your life." Most of the folks participating in this one-day action aren't urging a return to mandatory bartering and worldwide gruel rationing.
