Kristen /m1148 -- you will get paid for the leave you have earned. If you are a regular, you got credited in January for the entire year. Therefore, the leave that you got credited for May-December is unearned.

- My husband is in the military and we are moving out of state. - I've decided not to transfer with the USPS. - Yesterday was my last day of work; my current pay statement shows my annual leave balance as 136 hours.
Will I be paid for these unused hours? I would gladly have taken that time as leave, but not much seniority/flexibility to take it.

Has anyone ever been asked to be a "team player" and carry a portion of another route for mileage only to avoid the PO paying the newer, slower carrier overtime?

I need surgery to repair my achilles tendon. Am certain it is a repetitive motion injury from everyday hop and stop delivery. Unsure whether to apply for workmans comp or just get the surgery under FMLA. Am afraid of workmans comp given the current mindset, or lack of, by USPS and this new NRP crap. I am eligible for early out but don't want to take the hit as I am only 51. Any good advice out there?

pebbles - Thee is no "single document" that outlines the freeze. The only hiring we are doing in the AR District is PMR's, RCA's and TRC's. RCA's are not required to take a lunch break but they are expected to make the route evaluation. The regular carrier selects high or low option. High option is when the regular wants to make more money by agreeing to work more days in the pay period. Only carriers that earn 8 hours of leave per pay period may select high option.

Is there a document that outlines the hiring freeze? Is the hiring freeze for all crafts everywhere or just certain areas? If certain areas, where? Are RCA's required to take a lunch? What does high or low option mean when routes are being adjusted and who decides which, the regular or Postmaster?

Not very long, Bobby, but remember, this was right before the freeze, and I never got to transfer. I think they did away w/the position. You may have better luck after the restructuring, and retirements are all in.They have to put most of the positions on hold right now for excessing, I'm sure.
