Hi Sandy,
I am a mother of two who has resided in the Littlestown area since 1997. I relocated from Maryland. I have a daughter 20 and a son 17 who have both attended/graduated from Littlestown Area Schools. I can't say enough good about this area especially the school system. My daughter now a Junior at Penn State has been commended by her professors based on the education she received here. My son will graduate high school with 9 college credits. The teachers have been wonderful (but you always have a few that ruffle your feathers of course). All considering I would highly recommend the schools. As far as the area. I personally love it. It is small; one red light, a grocery store, 2 hardware stores, a Sheetz and of course a McDonanlds! A few other small merchants as well. There are many options as far as housing both new and older. On the downside school taxes are a bit high. The people however, are friendly and although sorta rural there are many that have relocated from Maryland which gives the area a small town feel but progressive as well. L-town is convenient to larger areas for shopping and otherwise. There are certain parts of town that are better than others, like anywhere, but all in all I have loved raising my family here. Best of luck to you!
