a littlestown parent: Why would you say that? I've raised 2 kids here and they turned out great. I think it's a great town. No town is without problems, and this is no exception, but I feel we have far less problems than most towns/cities.

Well, it is obvious that you don't have any girls that are still in school. The girls up here are horible!! They treat other girls (out of jealousy) worse than any other town that I have ever known. And their parents are just as bad with turning the "blind eye" to their own kids issues. They scratch up their cars and spread the worst rumors that one could ever dream of spreading through school. So I guess, be thankful that your kids are out of school. Had I have known that this town was the way it was we would have never moved here! And I would encourage ANYONE that has daughters and loves them and wants to protect them to NOT move here to Littlestown.

I agree!! My daughter comes home crying often because of the other girls in school. Take a look around your town and tell me that the parents don't turn a blind eye to the issues. It is their kids that are walking this town under age and pregnant!! Or have just gotten busted in the recent drug bust's. Parents take more concern of what your kids are doing and how they are treating others before your child is next to get involved with some of these "wonderful kids" that walk this town.

To all the town parents: This whole discussion should probably be conducted over at the gossip board but since it started here I will continue here. If anyone feels that Littlestown is worse than any other town they've ever known then all I can say is you must've have lived many different places.

I agree that some kids are cruel nowadays. Some can be mean, rude, overbearing and many other things, but all kids here or anywhere are not this way. If anyone tries to say that Littlestown is so much worse than other places or that we're somehow special in this area you're wrong. This is the way of the world. Just look at the recent events in the world. Even an elected government offical can get away with calling the President a liar practically to his face. The human race is losing it's civility. We have no filter. We say and do whatever comes into our small minds and often w/o consequence for our actions. Our kids see this and think it's okay for them and because of that we're raising what I like to call the "entitled generation".

My kids are mostly grown now. They went to Littlestown schools their entire school career and their father graduated from Littlestown. They were faced with their share of challenges that they/we had to deal with, but they all turned out just fine. This is all part of life. If you try to shelter your kids from the meanness of others they will not learn how to make it in the real world. Life is not fair and mean stuff happens all the time whether it be from those we call our friends, family, enemies or even our government. The best thing you can do for your girls is to teach them how to deal with this stuff when it happens. I guess what I'm saying is we have no control over what other people do to us or our loved ones, but we do have control over how we deal with it and what our perspective is. Teach your kids how to treat others well and how to deal with situations where they are not treated well by others and you'll all live happier lives.

This is just my 2 cents.

Spoken from a L'town person well....It speaks for itself.

To uh hello: When I say we I mean we as a society not me and not Littlestown parents. Please don't take my words out of context and turn them around on me. It goes back to the point I was trying to make that Littlestown is not somehow worse nor special. Society as a whole has lost it's civility.

When my kids came home upset about being picked on (which did get pretty bad at times for one of them) I taught them how to deal with it. Not to complain about it, not to take it out on someone else but to either take it or learn to stand up for themselves. Just like they now have to do in the real world.

To another Ltown parent...I believe that we all teach our children to deal with things in life and believe that the point of the parents is that it is ashame that they even have to treat others this way at all. I too have personally have had daughters that fell into being prey for some of the cruelty of the other girls here in the school. They can be really really cruel. And to be honest I have lived in other states and towns and have never had to face any of this type of stuff with myself or my daughters. Parents up here do seem to turn a blind eye to the way their children, teenagers act! Sometimes the reality of it does go way too far from them damaging cars and things like that to other destructive behavior. I personally realize that some stuff is normal but when they start with this type of stuff it does go over the line. I do agree with you about society losing its civility but it becomes beyond that when they start acting out in this type of behavior.

People, you shouldn't pick on anyone...one day that very person you pick on could become your boss, preacher, or just another friendly human being...no one has the right to judge anyone else..God does not judge!!My nieces moved up here a few years back and they received the same treatment...my first instincts was to fight back, but then what does that solve..nothing..but actually makes you just as guilty for judging...why is it that kids can be so cruel??? Parents it does start with you... Just remember..."Life is NOT a dress rehearsal !!" He without sin cast the first stone...it really should end up being a stoneless pit...

Do you ever think it might the family it's self that have caused the kids to have problems ? My parents moved to Littlestown a few years back and they never once had any problems, no not once. Another relative moved up with her family and yes, they had problems, but after being up a few times with their family, I found out they were kind of the cause of their problems that they blamed on Littlestown people. You know it's them, if they can even treat our parents the same way they treat the Littlestown people, like it's always someone elses fault, not blaming themselves. I think all you people who are blaming others for your mishaps and problems, well, take a closer look in the mirror, the problem is standing right in front of you.

Does anyone know when the baseball signup is in town? I went to the organizations website but there is no information there. Last year it was January 26th but as I said I haven't seen anything. Thanks for your help.
