Here's a little more background from the (Raleigh, NC) News & Observer (by their religion writer, no less) with some nice backpedaling by the chairman of the Guilford County GOP.

It's going to be fun watching the GOP try to exploit the muslim haters in the next election in the same way they have the segregationists, while maintaining plausible deniability.

Even though they've removed that link, I'm still offended by their crappy web design sense.

Hmmm...interesting...the link on their page has been changed. Now the question is whether it remains changed or whether they're just waiting for the furor to die down. I suspect the latter because the text for the link is still in place while it does not link to IE.

Dave Poppers is hinting at the solution here. The NC GOP SHOULD link to inifdels .org and clambake and every other site debunking this or that religion. Debunking Isalm is a start but there's so much more work to do. Should link to sites debunking CAIR too. There's no shortage of those.

This is rather funny, because Islam Exposed is not just an anti-Muslim site, but really a pro-atheism site. The Guilford GOP might as well have linked to infidels.org or American Atheists.
