Jarhead just go to the doctor and get put on the 8/40 workhour restriction. It is not worth it to have damaged arms and legs just for a few extra bucks a week. You want to retire in one piece!

Congress and others? may ask JP Morgan Chase & Jamie Dimon , where are the millions in loan modification funds that were to alleviate foreclosures?, many Chase loan homeowners were given the runaround and unless they retained attorneys, never got the loans and or were foreclosed by Chase, sure there are lawsuits, but this greedy bank must be brought to account for those millions in loans never given out, why is it working class suffers while the Jamie Demon continues to rake in the cash for him and his cohorts but not the consumer/ taxpayer! Yet the PO can't get a drop of the billions squandered to JP and other banks, and the economy will go up up and then, take a guess. All along the greedy corporations will rake in the taxpayers money. On long island, I see big advertisements in newspapers for CCA positions. Just as I predicted, it seems like CCA retention rate is very low, and all the advertising in the world, is not going to change that, especially in the high cost of living areas. If they don't change the hourly rate soon, the USPS will lose money in the long run, because the cost of training the new CCA'S will become prohibitive, especially when they leave within days/weeks! Only the USPS can screw something like this up!

O.k., ready to roll, I stand corrected. We are spoiled at our station. Maybe after the Memorial Day holiday, our vacation schedule will require some non OTDL carriers to work.
Jarhead, things wearing out and hurting, a VA doctor would give you a two week reprieve note stating a two week restriction to an 8 hour work day - if you wanted a PAIN break. But the bucks are tempting so just ignore this wimp.

Jarhead, PLEASE consider maybe dropping off the OT list the last half of June to REST your body. Jarhead, probably when you do that, THAT will be when the meter reader job comes to you. You know how those things work out that way.

Yes.. Volume is picking up a little but will soon nosedive due to the Summer. Hope they have enough people to cover A/L because I don't know how many summers I can do this 6 days a week with 4 of them being 10 hour days. The money is great but the body isn't willing all the time..

Tres, YES there has been a noticeable increase in volume as the economy (housing) improves. Ready to roll, I have four cats at minimum (9 max) who are my pals on the route. Each day my husband asks me how many cats visited me that day. P.S. I won't tell you the strategies I had to utilize on my route inspection day to keep them "low-key". The only thing the route examiner said was, "you must be a cat person.". Yes, Ready, they make my day, too.

Why do you think they despise us carriers? Maybe because once we leave the hellhole to go to our routes, we are pretty much on our own. That is why the scanpoints on the routes. As long as I don't have to see the scumbag PM, I have no worries. I get to see all the animals and they are the ones who put a smile on my face. Better than humans.

11.5 billion from overpayments we've made to the treasury will be earmarked for retirement incentives and to pay bills. That is what Casper/Carper ( can't remember his name) wants in the new reform bill.

Clerk EO didn't save much money, especially in our neck of the woods. First they ended up giving bonuses to many who were going to retire this year anyway or even postponed planned retirement last year. Second, we lost such a high number that overtime soared, carriers and supervisors did work and grievance payouts went way up. Third, we even had to change window hours so window clerks could help in the box and get mail to carriers, so our revenue and customer service suffered. The only thing the EO did, was help Donahoe's plan of getting rid of union salaried workers, which he believes is our biggest problem and it helped him with his myth that we are over staffed. Have many of you noticed how volumes are now rising as the economy improves?
