I received a letter from HR today. They confirmed my insurance selections and my 10/31 retirement date. This is the first official notice I have seen stating I am retired. I was out on SL so have not been going to the office in any case. It does feel weird though as I have been with USPS since '73. That is a long, long time. Anybody else receive the same?

old clerk-I appreciate the help and info. I have gotten on this site. That's why I keep checking in. It is true that sometimes you just have to put your hip boots on and wade through the muck-but there are decent people on here too and very helpful ones I might add. People come here because we are all in the same boat or have been there before and choose to help each other. We can't help it if a few a-holes get on here too.

Hey-Info for you-- September 9, 2009 Page 4 The amount of severance pay is based on the number of years of service. Employees are credited with one week of compensation for each year of service up to 10 years, plus two weeksf compensation for each year in excess of 10 years. For an employee with 25 years of service, the employee would receive 40 weeks of compensation. This allowance is increased by 10 percent for each full year that an employeefs age exceeds 40 years at the time of separation. The maximum compensation through severance pay is 52 weeks. This payment would be made bi]weekly. If we prevail in arbitration on the USPS obligation to pay severance to employees who accepted VER offers in 2008 and 2009, management and the union would discuss ways of identifying former employees who would be eligible for payment. This process and the payment would depend on the specific wording of the arbitration decision. WB:RB:hjp(sd)//opeiu#2/afl]cio

The HR and on the couseling sessions said not to send TSP forms and to wait 30 days after your retirement date to send them in to TSP because it would allow TSP time to have received all your info from the postal agency. Sorry some did not listen.

Hearing from experinced people who are actually willing to help cuts down time searching for answers. There are a few who help and are glad to do so. They always tell what they know and the link where to find more for yourself (such as '54'). It is sad that some entertain themselves with bickering and belittling on this site.

Who in the hell would come on these sites to find legitimate answers? These sites are little more than rumor and gossip. Sort of like the work room floor.

IT REALLY WAS A SAD DAY WHEN THE POSTAL REPORT FORUMS CLOSED DOWN AND ALL THOSE BAD SEEDS CAME OVER HERE.
Doesn't anyone manage these forums? People go to the trouble of setting them up to help people, and then they sit back and let these social deviants ruin it?

Phillychick, Nickle is a 204B at St. Pete, Florida. Someone that works there told me they know him and he's totally worthless. NOT surprising!

Phillychick: I think you called him out. The craft don't want him and management won't have him. 22 years in service and he can't name anyone he can trust. He can't move up and no one in craft wants to have him back. Must be great to be the best in your own mind.
