Jarhead, my SINGLE working mom called out sick once while I was growing up (to go to a job interview). I didn't call out sick for the first 18 years at the p.o., but now I regret that. I was intimidated by management, and I didn't want to burden co-workers. I have NO MEMORIES of who of my co-workers were who called out sick and made it tough on the rest of us. You bust your ass that day and then it is forgotten.

Hanging tough- I agree completely !!!!!! Opm has to approve it. Then if there is an incentive, it must be negotiated with Rolando. ( dollar amount).

Many thanks for all the pep talks from all. You can't teach an old dog new tricks.
Have always been an overtime whore and never could figure out where the money goes
but that's the problem with living on Long Island. Just hope to be out of here soon.

My parents brought me up to worry about not the job but what happens to your co-workers
when things go bad. I sometimes worry about banging in on S/L because of what it does
to my fellow employees but that's just me. Everyone has their little quirks and that is
one of mine. And on another note I will now go on record as swearing by those gel shots
for knee pain.. I actually have less pain in my left knee now than my right.. What a deal

It seems that they would already JUMP at the chance to offer the early out, kick us ol' guys & gals out the door, and get some young studs that can move fast with boundless energy and enthusiasm... and for LESS MONEY PER HOUR! I just don't understand what the usps is waiting for while the ship is sinking!

At one of our post offices, SEVERAL carriers (regulars and PTFs also TEs had 8 hour OR FEWER work restrictions) and as a result, more carriers WERE HIRED THERE.

If everyone could get the restrictions what do you think would happen? The mail would not get delivered timely and the pressure would fall on the upper management. They might even offer the early out so they could get the young ones in and get rid of us old farts!

Jarhead, bigtruckerman ALSO encouraged you to get a Dr.'s note, not just me./m46421
YOUR WIFE DESERVES a healthy retired hubby, don't let the p.o. take your health. It is not up to you to sacrifice yourself for your co-workers when they, too, could get a restriction. This staffing is the POSTAL service's problem.

Jarhead just go to the doctor and get put on the 8/40 workhour restriction. It is not worth it to have damaged arms and legs just for a few extra bucks a week. You want to retire in one piece!

Congress and others? may ask JP Morgan Chase & Jamie Dimon , where are the millions in loan modification funds that were to alleviate foreclosures?, many Chase loan homeowners were given the runaround and unless they retained attorneys, never got the loans and or were foreclosed by Chase, sure there are lawsuits, but this greedy bank must be brought to account for those millions in loans never given out, why is it working class suffers while the Jamie Demon continues to rake in the cash for him and his cohorts but not the consumer/ taxpayer!
Yet the PO can't get a drop of the billions squandered to JP and other banks, and the economy will go up up and then, take a guess.
All along the greedy corporations will rake in the taxpayers money.
